OT-Spencer Haywood changed history
Few of you will remember this guy. I played basketball against him in the mid-60's PSL, Mumford vs. Pershing H.S. (we won in double OT--iirc) took his case for early entry into the league all the way to the supreme court. check it out:

one of my favorite NBA stars growing up. If I remember correctly, he had extraordinarily large hands (with an extra joint on each finger).

In other words, he was a mutant. I wonder what his hidden X-power was? It might have had something to do with flight.

I was just thinking of those Pershing teams which included Ralph Simpson (great ABA player) and were coache by the legendary Will Robinson. They were a little before my time, I was 6 in 1967, but I heard countless stories from my brother about Pershing. I have included a link here telling the story of Pershing

What I will always remember about Spencer Haywood is he was reputed to able to dunk over the backboard. Don't know if it was true but some things etch into your memory.
