Somewhat interesting?  That sounds downright silly.  I know they have a lot of talent down there and Fedora is familiar with the region, but seems like a tough situation to walk into.  Maybe he's thinking that if Mack Brown can do it??  Speaking of whom, any truth to the rumors he's retiring?  And what of TAMU, Wazoo, UCLA?  Is Sumlin really going to Illinois???  Should be a fun off-season coaching carousel.

It's bad for both sides. UNC just hired a guy who, before this season, was only a few games over .500 and wins games 50-49 against crappy opponents.

His signature win came from beating an overrated Houston team.

It's amazing what a big win can do for one coach. It looks like conference USA is the new coaching hot spot instead of the MAC. Still think Tim beckman is the best coach out of the non AQ schools, really suprised no one is knocking on his door yet.

UNC is going to hit with sanctions.  It's not like it's the most desired position out there.  IMO, to best beat sanctions, lost scholarships should be assumed to be for defensive players that won't be recruited due to schollie losses, get an offensive minded head coach, recruit on O as nothing had happened, and run a high powered offense and use a bend but don't break defense until schollie #s get back to normal and then return to full recruiting on D side of the ball.  Fedora fits this role and plan perfectly.

I honestly thought Gus Malzhan was going to get the job. I know he has no head coaching experience, but he has a great offensive mind, and is a good recruiter. I dont know if his wife's interview had something to do with him not getting hired yet, but I think he'd be a good head coach some day. His offense is exciting, granted he had Cam Newton, but still think he could have done well in the ACC. UNC has had some great talent recently, especially on the defensive side of the ball. Oh well, Fedora was a good hire and hope he does well.

Kristi Malzahn was interviewed by a church tv show about life as a football coaches wife and sounded like a heartless crazy b#$ch. She was blasting fans, and calling Cam Newton hot or something like that. It was a long interview, but it has since been pulled from youtube for copyright issues. Google Kristi Malzahn and you will see numerous posts regarding how crazy she sounds. She really didn't help her husband out.

He was also in the Texas A&M discussion, I believe.

UNC is the less stressful position of the two, I think, perhaps unless the NCAA randomly (for this is how they decide things) decides to raze the program
