Tennesee bourbon apparently. but really, Maize and blue, Rich Rod Kool Aid. (AKA, still at work beeeeeches.)
landing spot. will be interesting to see how he does.
Tennesee bourbon apparently. but really, Maize and blue, Rich Rod Kool Aid. (AKA, still at work beeeeeches.)
Tennessee Bourbon is a categorical impossiblity. Just sayin.
Yeah, I definitely meant to say Whiskey... long work day and policing of these here mgoblogs,, mmmkay.
Common misunderstanding. While most bourbons ARE made in Kentucky, the laws outlining what qualifies as bourbon state it MUST be made in the U.S.
Thus, there could be a Tennessee bourbon or any other "insert state here" bourbon.
I say this as a pint of good ol' Ezra Brooks stares at me from across my desk...that'll be enough to start. 45% alcohol, 55% tears of angels, 100% excellence.
Wow!! 55% tears of angels, that's a glowing endorsement. I've never imbibed said spirit, but, might go get some.
It was my standard carry-in pint for Michigan games the past 4 years. It got me through the past 4 seasons, starting with The Horror and ending with Wisconsin, if that gives you a sense of its efficacy and warm embrace.
Also has started producing some very good small batch bourbon.
'Bourbon is a poor man's scotch'
A glass of Oban 14
pour me a nice tall glass of maize and blue kool-aid with Rich Rod ice cubes. Last I checked we have a coach.
That shit's gone after midnight in Michigan
i haven't had blue poop or woken up covered in change lately
in that case, i am drinking everything but Four Loko to celebrate that horrible scourge's demise.
Starting with a bloody mary on my flight back to Detroit. hooray for free Wifi on Delta!
Due to the freezing of federal salaries, i'm going with a frozen drink theme to start
MGoCommunity, it's been a great day, a lot of action and a lot of fun, this Bud's for all of you, Cheers!
Probly martinis. Which are like a woman's breasts.... one's not enough but three is too many. ;)
But, this will also require me to run out to buy olives, because I'm out. :(
Freezing cold out, not looking forward to it.
with a splash of milk.
/pip pip cheerio.
& tonic. The drink which IMO is always in season. T minus 2 hours...
And good choice....Tanqueray is my gin of choice and what I'll be using in my aforementioned martinis.
I'd probly be hooking up the Tanq and tonic myself, but I'm on a low carb diet and tonic has tons of sugar in it.
I prefer Beefeater myself. Less piney, plus it has that royal ugly dude on the bottle.
Also have you considered diet tonic water?
I need to try these brands, I have only had Bombay and Hendricks which I am drinking right now. Also, Diet Tonic water is the way to go, it just takes a few drinks to get used to, but by your 3rd-4th you can't even tell anymore (make sure you have a lime).
Might I add a couple other gins that I favor:
1 - Tanq 10. Probably tops all comers. Outstanding in martini (dry) & sublime with tonic.
2 - Leopolds. A small batch gin actually made in A2. Lucky enough to get it out here in Denver - similar to Hendricks but with a touch of anise-like aftertaste, if that is to your liking.
In any event, enjoy your libations tonight & all nights!
Mid level - Beefeater (think Bacardi or Smirnoff for the level of alcohol)
Higher end - Bombay Sapphire - top notch in my opinion
Leopold's gin is the only liquor I'll drink on the rocks. It's incredible.
...then it is all about the Tanqueray Rangpur...mmmm.
I'm a fan of Hendricks, myself. It's worth a try if you've not had it before.
to the Tanqueray. Unfortunately, I only have a quarter of a fifth left, so it looks like either White Zin or Bud Light after that. Haven't decided yet. Maybe both...
Wish it were this instead though --------->
Tomorrow night our company holiday party is at a restaurant that has 60 minute on tap. I'm planning on having about eight. Ten if Dee goes to Bama.
Calypso Rum. 70 times as good as Captain Morgan and only $10.40 for a Liter
What are you five years old?
... it's been a rough week on the boards.
Hoping it will kill what little brain cells I have left.
I'm going with kerosene and bleach on the rocks. If I end up in heaven, that'll be sweet. If I end up in hell, I'll feel similar to the way I do now.
More than just a hint of the Isles.
Quit drinking a month ago. Have yet to find a good replacement.
Try smoking weed.
It's actually less addictive and less harmful than alcohol, esp. if you use a vape.
I'm in the military but +1 to you.
I think you should be the coach.
and after watching entourage that is not going to happen.
I don't drink any more either, unless I'm alone, or with someone else.
That reminds me of a quote I once heard: "When I read about the evils of drinking, I decided to give up reading." Can't remember who said it.
Another good drinking quote: "Don't drink and park. Accidents cause people."
Some leftover Sam Octoberfests, maybe some Purple Chongos later if I get in the mood.
Pretty jealous you still have some octoberfests. I need to learn to not drink them all the moment I get them.....
I just had a few in my jeep for a while and I'm usually too lazy to go out and get them. Today just has a special feeling about it though...
I actually finished up my Sam Oktoberfest, but I did just pick up the winter collection - GET IT. It has 2 bottles of the Chocolate Bock, which was a limited special bottle a few years ago that I tried - amazing.
Hope everyone has a good night, I'm watching my bulls get worked by the celtics...
Since i havent started yet I gotta go with some Goose Island 312. No boston beers tonight, rooting for a bulls come back
Thanks for the tip - I assume it's a 12 pack sampler? Good luck to your Bulls this season, unless they're playing the Pistons.
12 pack sampler 2 of each:
White Ale (I thought this used to be their spring brew? It's now in the winter sampler. I think the Lattitude 48 will be the new "spring")
Old Fezziwig Ale
(the chocolate replaced the Cranberry Lambic from the old sampler. and the white replaced... black lager?)
I think there was some black lager in the autumn sampler so you could be right.
But then Great Lakes Christmas Ale(s) with the boys after our tilt
I've just started on the Anchor Christmas Ale, their 36th year celebrating the holidays. Excellent.
I have a couple Blue Moon Winters to polish off. And at some point I'll have an egg nog and vodka. Then, sweet Bolivian.
Just bought two sixers of GL Christmas Ale. Amazing stuff.
Have you tried Pepsi One?
It's made with Splenda instead of aspartame so won't give you tumors.
Then it looked like it had disappeared, about the time when Coke Zero came out. Like that, too. But Pepsi Max might be the best diet cola out there.
Maybe upgrading to Johnny Walker green later in the night.
What is worse for you than bonging Four Loko?
Getting to 8 or 12 loko is probably worse...
What've you got? My wife is on a rampage over god-knows-what. I need a drink. Now.
Just because you need it.
She's got this "I'm-pissed-at-you-and-the-world-but-I-won't-tell-you-why-since-you-should-know-anyway" demeanor going. Nice way to kick off the weekend.
A double. Just been that kind of week.
Slapping the bag with some free Malibu Rum Punch. Throw in shotgunning some Keystone Ice, and it's a nice buzzzzz

Diet Sierra Mist Cranberry Splash
You can only get it from October to February and it is quite tasty.
I wonder how much money id have in my account if i stopped drinking, but the thought doesnt last that long.
Put Vodka in that. Trust me, after you do you'll wonder why you didn't drink for all that time.
My grandpa and I are obsessed with this. Seriously, when they go on sale at Meijer he'll buy about 40 and stack them in his garage, haha.

Tis the season.
