OT: Snuck in one more offseason NCAAF scandal (USC)

Submitted by 1464 on

Figured I would use the last 10 minutes of our offseason to post that the USC Trojans are likely to get some scrutiny again.  A figure under investigation for a corruption scandal has reported giving cash and perks to Joe McKnight and Davon Jefferson, a MBB player.  I hope they get nailed as hard as UNC did...

Wasn't one of the terms of their last sanctions that USC is on probation and can't commit any major violations for the next few years? If this report proves true, hopefully they lose another year or two of bowl eligibility and some scholorships.

Admittedly, I didn't follow that investigation as closely as the Ohio scandal.  However, if I were to make an assumption, it would be made thusly:

Allegations were made about improper benefits regarding Ohio players and free rent in upscale apartments.  Nothing came of the situation.  I'm guessing this would be like somebody coming forward with evidence of these allegations.  Not new, but not necessarily unfounded.
