OT - Snowmageddon POSBANG

Submitted by TatuajeVI on

The weather predictions for today and tonight have been all over the news with warnings of a nasty winter storm, so what better excuse for a POSBANG?! North of Detroit, we've only gotten about an inch of snow so far. The weather reports are saying the afternoon should bring the heaviest snow. Possible accumulation of 8-14 inches depending on your area. Monday and Tuesday we may set records for low temperatures. Be safe out there!

You like to perpetuate racial stereotypes just like him? His comments were totally uncalled for and he never got any real backlash because people are afraid to call out blacks for their racism but he's a bigot. C'mon, man.

We had seven here in Colorado yesterday. All of you in Michigan must be getting it from the same storm.

In Columbus, the forecast has been changing. Most recent projections say only 1-3 since it is supposed to hit 40 this afternoon. The windchill/freeze factor is the main issue, it seems.
This all sucks because tomorrow is our first day back from holiday break, and I need to lesson plan this week.

Ypsilanti is now getting it pretty good. Good thing I bought some milk and TP yesterday after all. But on the plus side, I get to hook my two dogs up to the sled and let them pull my daughter around for a little bit. The laughs she gets out of this is worth all the pain in the ass this much snow causes.

I'm lucky. I used to be severly allergic. I've outgrown it but my body has a hard time since I haven't had it from birth until my mid 20s. I can take lactaid pills and i do sometimes but they make me constipated as all hell.

"Snowtastrophy".

Seriously, up here near Milford, we got about 4 inches before the snow took a strategic pause to let me clear the driveway and walkways. It's kicked up again and there's a new coating of snow with the rate definitely increasing.

I'm here in lovely Cleveland, Ohio.  This storm is going to have to something like the missing 11th plague on Egypt for me to notice anything different from every other winter day.

Supposed to fly into Detroit tonight. Our flight is the second leg of a continuing flight. The first one has already been cancelled but ours is still showing as on. We are having a standoff here, where I keep checking flight status on my phone and Delta keeps saying the flight is departing as scheduled. Since it's a 3-hour drive to the airport, I'm not in the mood for shenanigans.

One of the Decembers I was out there, they had a record snow fall for 1 month in the state. It snowed 8 or more inches every other day. Don't really miss that. But they say this storm is heading your way, so good luck right back at you. Although out east does do a much better job of snow removal, so at least you have that going for you.

I'm here in Chicago where the forecast is close to a foot of snow then -18 degrees overnight, high tomorrow of -12.  Not sure I'm even going to try to get into the office tomorrow.  Fun times.

Bloomington, IN was supposed to get 12-18 inches. Well it hasn't snowed once here and it was supposed to have started at midnight. So now all it is doing is sleeting/raining a bunch and it's turning into thick sheets of ice. I can deal with a lot of snow, but this much ice? I guess I am not going anywhere for a few days.

Luckily I bought supplies for roast, potatoes, carrots, beef stew, beef and noodles, and chicken parmesan. So at least since I am stuck I can take this time to cook some decent meals. So I don't really mind that I can't go anywhere. Good food, football, some Michigan sports, and no work? I can deal with that.

Here in Rochester Hills, MI it's snowing a shit load, however, there is no accumulation on the ground. I'm guessing since it's somewhat warm (or warmer than usual outside) the snow along with the salt on the road already is making it melt as soon as it touches. Hopefully this keeps up through out and all we get are negative temps tomorrow.
