OT - Snowmageddon POSBANG
The weather predictions for today and tonight have been all over the news with warnings of a nasty winter storm, so what better excuse for a POSBANG?! North of Detroit, we've only gotten about an inch of snow so far. The weather reports are saying the afternoon should bring the heaviest snow. Possible accumulation of 8-14 inches depending on your area. Monday and Tuesday we may set records for low temperatures. Be safe out there!

Every time I hear the phrase "two inches" now, I'm reminded of a Jason Whitlock joke...

You like to perpetuate racial stereotypes just like him? His comments were totally uncalled for and he never got any real backlash because people are afraid to call out blacks for their racism but he's a bigot. C'mon, man.

Well, that escalated quickly.
I mean, that really got outta hand fast.

You must have been having a bad day.

We had seven here in Colorado yesterday. All of you in Michigan must be getting it from the same storm.

This all sucks because tomorrow is our first day back from holiday break, and I need to lesson plan this week.

It would seem that milk consumption would fuel the need for more use of TP.

I already know I'm lactose intolerant. Can't avoid the yumminess of dairy. I just suck it up and go to the can.
January 5th, 2014 at 3:47 PM ^
That sucks, man. I've always wondered abou that; there's nothing you can do? No medicine that works?
January 5th, 2014 at 5:51 PM ^
I'm lucky. I used to be severly allergic. I've outgrown it but my body has a hard time since I haven't had it from birth until my mid 20s. I can take lactaid pills and i do sometimes but they make me constipated as all hell.

Pun intended.

no lactose, same basic stuff....

"Snowtastrophy".
Seriously, up here near Milford, we got about 4 inches before the snow took a strategic pause to let me clear the driveway and walkways. It's kicked up again and there's a new coating of snow with the rate definitely increasing.

Tomorrow is going to be some serious shit.
High of -10. Windchill -40 or something.
January 5th, 2014 at 11:47 AM ^
It's supposed to be from minus five, to 10 degrees, with a windchill from -25.

In other words, go shirtless, and you'll be screaming "OMG!"

Nothing personal, but I think this posbang should be reserved for folks who have to deal with snow or cold or preferably both.

It's a white out just south of GR. Sounds like it is only going to get worse.

I'm here in lovely Cleveland, Ohio. This storm is going to have to something like the missing 11th plague on Egypt for me to notice anything different from every other winter day.

My boss insists that weather is not an excuse to be late for work. What about even being able to make it to work at all?

I'm here in Chicago where the forecast is close to a foot of snow then -18 degrees overnight, high tomorrow of -12. Not sure I'm even going to try to get into the office tomorrow. Fun times.

Bloomington, IN was supposed to get 12-18 inches. Well it hasn't snowed once here and it was supposed to have started at midnight. So now all it is doing is sleeting/raining a bunch and it's turning into thick sheets of ice. I can deal with a lot of snow, but this much ice? I guess I am not going anywhere for a few days.
Luckily I bought supplies for roast, potatoes, carrots, beef stew, beef and noodles, and chicken parmesan. So at least since I am stuck I can take this time to cook some decent meals. So I don't really mind that I can't go anywhere. Good food, football, some Michigan sports, and no work? I can deal with that.

Here in New Jersey we just have a bunch of freezing rain/normal rain. So every walk be annoyingly cold.
