September 26th, 2010 at 8:24 PM ^
He's sitting because of his DUI. But he wasn't suspended.
September 26th, 2010 at 8:26 PM ^
I'm curious to see if he will be an instant factor once the second quarter starts. I still can't decide who I'm rooting for. I'm leaning Dolphins, but there are equal numbers of Wolverines on each side.
September 26th, 2010 at 8:32 PM ^
I'm supposed to be a Jets fan, but since Harris and Edwards are already recognized, I'm pulling for Henne. Yeah, I guess Long is already recognized, but he'll help Henne out. And you beat me (below) to the description of the stylishly trimmed beard. Maybe that's part of Braylon's penitence.
September 26th, 2010 at 8:30 PM ^
he is suspended for one quarter since he's sitting out in the first quarter.
September 26th, 2010 at 8:28 PM ^
They just showed Braylon on TV. He shaved the epic bread! Nooo!!!!
September 26th, 2010 at 8:28 PM ^
Braylon isn't rockin that sweet beard. I'm saddened.
September 26th, 2010 at 8:47 PM ^
Depending on what city jail he was taken to they may have made him shave as part of processing.
September 26th, 2010 at 8:31 PM ^
that's weak.
September 26th, 2010 at 8:34 PM ^
Al Michaels just said that there were a bunch of other similar infractions but no one else missed any time. So one quarter is more punishment than the standard it seems.
September 26th, 2010 at 8:38 PM ^
to Tony Dungy. (Punishment debate in the pregame show.)
September 26th, 2010 at 8:31 PM ^
Loved those Henne-Edwards-Long back-to-back-to-back camera shots during the anthem.
September 26th, 2010 at 8:34 PM ^
is an alum?
September 26th, 2010 at 8:31 PM ^
Am I the only one who hates the Dolpnins' orange jerseys? Ow!! MY EYES!!!
September 26th, 2010 at 8:32 PM ^
If he sits out the first quarter we can't diagnose why he didn't say he went to UM.
September 26th, 2010 at 8:37 PM ^
Here comes the Capital One Bowl flashbacks. God I love that game...
September 26th, 2010 at 10:00 PM ^
Love that # 77 is still there too.
September 26th, 2010 at 8:39 PM ^
As I look up the rosters for both teams, something jumped off the page for me:
Chad Henne will earn $950,340 this year while Chad Pennington will abscond with $5,750,000
Anyway, others to keep your eye on for the Dolphins:
Of course, Jake "the Pre-Lewan" Long
Joe Berger, the Miami center, played ball at Michigan Tech of all places.
and playing for the Jets:
Braylon "the beardless" and David Harris
September 26th, 2010 at 8:42 PM ^
Oh man, the cut-away to commercial featured a throwback to Will Smith's "Miami" song. I had all but forgotten that timeless classic.
September 26th, 2010 at 8:44 PM ^
Damn he throws a tight spiral.
Hartline bagged that play on purpose because he's a Buckeye.
September 26th, 2010 at 8:54 PM ^
Moeaki had a ridiculous grab today. I wouldn't have seen it if it weren't for BHGP, so I thought I'd pass it on.
September 26th, 2010 at 8:56 PM ^
"David Harris, Ottawa Hills"
Really?!
September 26th, 2010 at 9:04 PM ^
He's always been a Grand Rapids supporter. just showing some hometown love
September 26th, 2010 at 9:31 PM ^
September 26th, 2010 at 9:58 PM ^
of GR public schools. Ottawa Hills is terrible in football(or in sports in general). Seen Harris played in HS and came away unimpressed with him. Kevin Grady as a freshman ran Harris over a couple of times. Funny how it turned out. Harris was a non-hyped recruit and became a NFL starting LB while Kevin was a highly anticipated, hyped 5* recruit and was a huge bust.
September 26th, 2010 at 8:56 PM ^
has david harris always said "ottawa hills" instead of michigan for intros?
September 26th, 2010 at 9:31 PM ^
Seems like a legitimate question. I'm pretty sure Braylon also used his high school last time, but Larry Foote was doing it for quite a while with the Steelers on his first time around with them.
September 26th, 2010 at 8:57 PM ^
announced their Michigan backgrounds with great emphasis and precision.
September 26th, 2010 at 8:59 PM ^
I foresee a thread concerning Harris' thoughts on RichRod to pop up quite soon
September 26th, 2010 at 9:01 PM ^
OK everyone, calm down. A bunch of NFL players represent their high schools in the starting roster videos.
September 26th, 2010 at 9:29 PM ^
ever plays in the NFL I doubt he will ever say "Hilliard Darby." My old high school's football team stunk every year I was there except my senior year. We went undefeated and won our division that year and got to the playoffs for the first time. Since then it's been downhill.
September 26th, 2010 at 11:56 PM ^
but thanks for that tidbit.
September 27th, 2010 at 12:07 AM ^
His number is 13 I think. He was quarterback at my old high school.
September 27th, 2010 at 12:25 AM ^
I thank you for the additional info, but I'm still at a loss.
However, IF Mr. Ebert overcomes the tremendous odds and makes it on an NFL roster
and IF he somehow manages to start on an NFL team
and IF he is fortunate enough to play on an NFL team that plays in the game of the week on Sunday Night Football so that he gets to announce where he has previously received some level of education...
and he says "Jeremy Ebert, Hillard Darby High School"...
well then Mister, you are going to look silly, now aren't you?
September 26th, 2010 at 9:08 PM ^
Alright, lets see what Braylon can do in 3qs
September 26th, 2010 at 9:13 PM ^
seems to be a fan of Lloyd-ball. Someone needs to show him Cap 1 bowl footage to show him how to open up the scoring machine.
September 26th, 2010 at 9:54 PM ^
I love that Miami drafted Henne right after he laid that delicious beatdown on the Gators.
One of my favorite Michigan games ever. Appy St. is better than Florida!
September 26th, 2010 at 9:58 PM ^
Then they will get a chance to prove it later this year. I'm pretty sure App. State plays at the swamp later this year.
September 26th, 2010 at 10:02 PM ^
Really? Sarcasm aside, I hope Appalatian St. wins then. Unlikely, but the SEC deserves it.
September 26th, 2010 at 10:26 PM ^
I may or may not be at that game, pulling for Appy State.
September 26th, 2010 at 10:20 PM ^
Henne really loves him some Brandon Marshall. Seriously...a great QB-WR combo. Nice pickup for the Fins.
The run game is really struggling this evening...
September 26th, 2010 at 10:29 PM ^
on my fantasy football team. whoo-hoo. Double the points for TD pass and catch! Brandon Marshall is one of the better WR in the league if he can keep his head on straight which he's doing it right now.
September 26th, 2010 at 10:28 PM ^
Welcome back Braylon
September 26th, 2010 at 10:29 PM ^
Michigan is just dominating this game. :-)
September 26th, 2010 at 10:31 PM ^
Teach me how to dougie!
September 26th, 2010 at 10:35 PM ^
Henne and Marshall are on fire for the Phins right now!
September 26th, 2010 at 10:35 PM ^
Henne now proceeding to f*ck sh*t up.
September 26th, 2010 at 10:36 PM ^
OK, I'm pretty sure that is the second time that Chris has called him Dan Henning. Is it too much to ask to know the starting QB on one of the teams that is playing?
September 26th, 2010 at 10:56 PM ^
Apologies if my sarcasm meter is off, but Dan Henning is the offensive coordinator for Miami.
September 26th, 2010 at 11:15 PM ^
No, I wasn't being sarcastic. I'm pretty sure he was mixing up Chad Henne and Dan Henning. I could have misheard him if he was saying something like kudos to Dan Henning for that pass to Marshall and referencing the play call and not the actual pass itself.
Then again, I'm on a roll here with some Bell's Two Hearted, so who really knows anymore...
EDIT: At least I'm not pulling out power tools. I still laugh whenever I drink thinking about drunk Brian and his power tools.
