Very interesting article on how Harabaugh has adjusted his playbook to simply the offense for Smith and his WRs while combating the zone blitz.
OT - Smart Football on Adjusting to the Blitz
Smart football is always great, but this was jaw-dropping. Harbaugh may well go on to have Belicheckian levels of success in the NFL.
this seems so simple why doesn't everyone do it?
to the Cleveland Browns and asked that someone could read it to Pat Shurmur. Apparently the Browns dont even have hot routes this year. I'm willing to bet the 0-16 Lions team would have won a game, had they been able to play the 2011 Browns.
Stop hurting my feelings when you talk about my family team that way! At least we're better than the lobotomized Colts this year. But it's a solid year of mediocrity for sure for Cleveland athletics.
As for the article, dropping the adjustment options for routes by an order of magnitude seems to have made things easier for the 49ers. I wonder what the long-term defensive counter to this could be.
Can I just say I've learned so much about football and its intricacies since I've been here on Mgoblog?
Between Brian and the board, we have to be one of the most football-educated fan bases out there.
Thanks! And Go Blue!
