She the one in that Audi commercial? The one where they take off her ski suit and put her in a dress?

1. It's an Acura commercial
2. No, it's Ashleigh McIvor in the commercial.

My son is a 15 yr old freeride skier. This is very sad and scary.

She is a beautiful woman and was doing the sport that she loved so much.

Love and prayers to her family. It is never easy, but it stings that much more when you lose someone at her age in such an abrupt manner.

Damn that sucks. RIP.

i was getting all pumped up for xgames and going snowboarding this weekend then i heard about this. definitely bums me out.

I'm part of the snowboard industry and I've lost some friends due to avalanches and crashes over the years. So tough. She actually fell in the same 22 foot super-pipe (Park City, UT) where Kevin Pearce was severely injured a few years ago.
When you play as hard as we play in this business; you have to weigh the risk and the reward of every line. And you always know that the mountains can take it all away from you.
Another great has left us... She joins Doug Coombs, Craig Kelly, Shane McKonkey, and so many others. Rest in peace.

I had a friend pass away a few years ago doing the exact same thing, only it was off of a jump and not in the halfpipe. So sad, RIP.

1. This is terribly sad news.
2. It's extra-sad because she's an accomplished person in the prime of life.

With me so far? Good.

Now, what is the point of this type of OT post? This bit of news is splashed ALL over the WWW, so it can't be considered informative. Also, what on earth can any decent person say in response other than what I have here (#s 1 and 2)?
My point: This adds nothing to MGoBoard.
It would be different if the deceased person had a strong connection to UMich *and* a lower profile (such that their death wouldn't be noticed by the mainstream media).
Sorry -- I felt the same way recently when someone posted about the Green Bay guy's son. Same idea ... young person, terribly sad, and ... just not (IMO) appropriate for this board.

Really? If you don't like it don't click on it.

<br>I don't have time to check all over the Internet, so when I have a few minutes I peruse this board. Had it not been here I wouldn't have known.

Very tragic, RIP
