Space Shuttle Discovery landing in a few minutes at 9:08am at Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Coverage on NASA TV.

FYI... Flight Director Tony Ciccaci is from Sterling Heights.

A guy at my work is close friends with him and got to go down and watch the lift off. They also gave him an email to communicate with him while he was in space. The guy here was pretty excited about it.

Not that any of this matters to anyone.

and watched the launch from the roof of the condo - pretty impressive.

My comment to my friends there was Michigan's links to the space program. It goes beyond the Gemini 4 and Apollo 17 all U of M crews. The University still has a top 10 Aerospace Engineering program. I have an out of state nephew that will be a freshman this fall in that program.

As a point of interest, Michigan has a document on the Moon designating it as an official Alumni Association club.

Seems like no matter what the topic - there is a Michigan connection. It's something we should take pride in.
