It probably wasn't a good sign when the last game of the 2006 WNBA finals was moved to the JLA because the Palace had booked a Mariah Carey concert. Or when their big playoff victories didn't get top billing in the News and Freep sports sections, even when the other content wasn't particularly thrilling. Or when their championship celebrations attracted sparse crowds. Basically, I don't think the Shock were ever going to get much attention in Michigan, so this move isn't a big...uh...shock.

to be mean I just don't care that they are leaving. I am going to get yelled at. There is no sport I would rather watch less than womens basketball. It is just so sloppy, it looks like a JV team. Turnovers non stop airballs I just can't stand it. The girls are wonderful athletes, but it is just hard to watch for me.

Why come Shock going to Tulsa? Eh, they still have the Internet down there, right? He'll still be able to post. We wont even know the difference.

I never understood why the team's name was singular. If you're going for an auto-part theme to accompany "Pistons", wouldn't it make more sense to call them the "Shocks"?

Hopefully Marathon will repaint that circular Oil storage thing on I-75 south of Detriot back to a Tigers themed baseball. I get pissed off everytime I drive by that thing and see the Shock logo on it.
