OT: Shea Weber fined 2,500 for his head slam on Zetterberg

I'm going to be very pissed off at the NHL and NHLPA should this be the only thing he receives punishment wise.

So Weber's first punch to the back of Zetterberg's head was retaliation for Z's elbow, OK, fine.  But then grabbing him and slamming his head into the glass - that should have been a suspension.  I bet it would have been in the regular season.  Shanny dropped the ball.

We should suit up Zombie Probert to smash Weber.

when they started playing with helmets. It all unraveled from there. Then visors, then the instigator rule. I remember when a little Euro slashed Probert in a face off, with one hit the little fucker hit the ice and Probie just shrugged and led himself into the box.

The NHL's attempts to "clean up" the game by getting rid of the goons has ironically led to a dirtier game because players can get away with stuff like this.  20 years ago, this guy would have had to face Bob Probert his next shift on the ice.  Any guy would think twice about this kind of shit.  A lot of people have pointed out that no other sport has fighting, but no other sport lets players get away with dirty hits like this.  The NFL hands out fines and suspensions for this kind of stuff.

The NHL simply can't police itself.  From the small sampling of games I have seen so far, the officiating has been permissive and shitty, as usual.
