OT: Shark Week Open Thread
OK, not really an open thread...because I don't expect people to follow along with it....
But anyone else excited for the annual dive to the deep end? Or do they have nothing left to teach us about sharks?
I do enjoy myself some good Shark videos. My only problem with shark week is that by the end of it they start repeating the stuff; or they show a lot of stuff from the previous years. I personally enjoyed the Mythbusters shark week stuff.
did Tory die??
I take back all of the bad things I've said about Mythbusters over the last few years. Sharks with frickin lazer beams for frickin eyes? Sharks with frickin lazer beams for frickin eyes.
Right?
Although it might be harder to pump the sharks. See, it is not so easy a question, is it?
So you're suggesting that, by the end of the week, shark week jumps the shark?
Shark week is one of the best weeks in television.
I live every week like it's shark week.
Stay thirsty, my friends.
Very nice, although I believe the frequency should be increasing
Which is easy for me to say, since I didn't make the graph and thus can claim total innocence.
Independent variable is distance. If you take in the increasing speed right at the point of attack, it should be right.

Watched a few episodes on great white sharks. They're not that aggressive. They only want seals. Bull sharks rule. They're aggressive and go after people. Bull sharks are kewl. When will they have bull sharks on?

But I've been surprised about how popular it really is. My facebook mini-feed has like 50 status updates about shark week, and I only have about 25 facebook friends, which gives me about 3 real friends, 2 of which are dogs, and even they're talking about shark week. Apparently I missed the 'it's ok to be a shark nerd at the end of summer' memo, but I'm digging it now.
