OT: Shaq falls on his face on live TV

Submitted by Wolverine Devotee on

On the NBA halftime show on TNT.

He tripped over a cord and took out a monitor with him.

I was back and forth from the computer to the TV.  I suddenly saw him laying on the ground.

It was funny.  I am glad he is okay!

I'm not even a huge NBA fan and I love that crew. I like Fox NFL Sunday as well but I don't even think those guys have as much chemistry as the TNT program.

LOL, really ..?  Fox NFL Sunday??  Frank Caliendo openly punks the whole crew and James Brown left for CBS to be replaced by some no name ...dare I say, token replacement.  Toss in Jimmy Hair and Terry Dumbass ....Howie 'No Sense of Humor' Long ..

there is no chemistry on that set

This is the closest Shaq will ever come to diving for an out of bounds ball in his life.

Gotta' love Shaq.

...is just OK.

He actually makes good comments sometimes, and as shown on this clip, can contribute (not necc on purpose) to the comedy. But his extremely low voice makes him inaudible for good portions of the show. That is a problem when you are a commentator.

Webber was actually better with this group, but now he's moving up the ranks of TNT analysts (I think he's essentially co-#1, tied with Reggie Miller now), so he's not going to be there.

But Charles, Kenny and Ernie? Awesome.

I just watched SNL's last episode last night and they made a joke about Shaq falling on his face after uttering a complete sentence.   Coincidence?

(It was during the weekend update segment.)

I heard him on Dan Patrick's show. He said that after Shaq does something crazy like running into the Christmas tree last year, he'll ask Ernie if he thinks that will get a billion youtube hits. I've got to admire a guy whose main goal in life now is to get a billion youtube hits.

Later in the show, Shaq was lip syncing to a song about birds and he was wearing a giant turkey-like costume. The pants kept falling down. Afterwards, Ernie asked him if he intended the pants to fall down as part of the bit, and Shaq said it was planned.

I was actually flipping through channels and seen this live. It was a great moment.

To paraphrase and steal a joke from one of the comedians on the Roast of Justin Bieber...

"Shaq may have fallen, but it's only because he was tired from his busy schedule of throwing flaming barrels at Super Mario..."
