OT-Second Chances-Dorsey and Hopwood. A Michigan Connection

Submitted by cazzie on
Just read this incredible story about a convicted armed bank robber named Hopwood who spends his 10 year sentence in the prison law library and becomes a wildly successful jailhouse lawyer. Now out of the slammer, he is applying to law school at UofM. Turn your life around, lately, Mr. Hopwood, sir? (Demar, you paying attention here? How 'bout you mr. dull?) Sam Webb mentioned this morning that Dorsey's coach and mother are angry at certain media members who they say misrepresented themselves and/or their editorial intent while interviewing Demar. I thought Sam mentioned that it was Freep reporters being singled out, but I was distracted while driving and I'm not sure I heard things correctly. It appears there's the same story behind the paywall at Rivals. Anybody know any greater detail?

...at the midnight maize chat. We didn't post it out of respect for him being the person to have found the info and wanted to let him be the person to make it public. Basically, the Wolverine supposedly tried to give Dorsey a chance to tell his side of the story, but the family won't let him talk to any reporters because the freep lied to and blindsided him and they don't trust anyone now. I hope Dorsey reads the blogs and figures out that we are on his side and most of us boycott/hate the freep. If he trusted the blogs, he may realize that an interview here would not only give him a forum, but also stick it up the freep's bleep.

Convicted felon goes to Michigan Law. Get's a scholarship? Likely. Should the University do that? Will the Dean of the Law School be fired if this guy gets in trouble again? I suggest in the cause of intellectual honesty the Freep ought to have the hit piece ready.

One of you needs to contact Dorsey's HS coach directly and interview him at length about their recent experiences with Detroit-area media figures.

Yep, "The Freep is misrepresenting its editorial intent again" is definitely in the same category as "Man Walks on the Moon," "Sun Rises in the East," and "Mark Dantonio Has an Expression on His Face Like He's Got the World's Largest Hemorrhoid."
