OT: Seahawks in space

Submitted by 4godkingandwol… on

I debated dropping this into the post I created yesterday with the flight tracker, but figured it is interesting enough to get its own post.

Good article about the inception of the idea behind the seahawks plane yesterday as well as how Paul Allen (Seahawks owner) one upped Boeing's CEO by getting the 12th man in space.  Really good read about a bet between two really rich dudes and their creativity.

Every time I hear the name "Paul Allen," I can't help but think of Huey Lewis and the News...

...then getting dinner reservations at Dorsia.

The strangest thing about all of this is that the 12th Man has now become so expansive that he has finally reached a place where, quite ironically, he cannot be heard save for anything the flag-waving astronaut might say on the communications uplink. Interesting stuff indeed and a pretty cool bet, I would say.

After reading thee title and not the post before reading your post I was imagining huge sea gulls launched and let go in space. I can't stop laughing at the thought and will continue to do so later. Thank you.
