OT - Schadenfreude moment in the draft...
I just read something that made me smile at the bottom of this draft breakdown article at ESPM.com
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/draft10/news/story?id=5132314
"The first Ohio State player chosen was linebacker Thaddeus Gibson, 116th overall by Pittsburgh."
That put a big grin on my face and here I thought they were supposed to be a talented team.
The fact that they just won the Rose Bowl and lose zero early round NFL talent is not something I view as a positive.
You just had to ruin a perfectly good moment with facts and reality and all that...sigh
I can be an asshole like that sometimes. Here's hoping Thaddeus Gibson was the glue keeping the whole ship together.
Exactly what made me depressed after ESPN highlighted that they hadn't had anyone selected after the first three rounds.
You do realize that they were one of the youngest teams in the Big Ten last year? Most of their talent was sophomore/juniors, many of which who came back for a national title run?
best us, and we weren't really in the game IMO. That was the depressing reaction I had to the OP.
we could've won this game.

was like 21-10, one score was offensive, two were not for OSu. This is not a bad result when viewed from having two freshmen QB's and not having an OL with much coherence after the best was injured for the year.
I was actually impressed. The team showed resolve and mettle during this game. When crackmonkeys from Columbus asked me about the game afterwards, I said I was happy because our youthful, mistake prone offense and defense didn't let themselves get blown out.
Were they younger than us??
I doubt it. Depends if you do it by starters or by roster, but I imagine they probably had .75-1 year on us averaged.
They also had roughly ten more scholarship players on the roster, which makes a big difference (as we'll hopefully see this fall).
Yeah uh that's not a good thing yo
Schadenfreude would be Pryor declaring early next year to escape the local media embarrassment of a 70-point loss to Michigan at home only to go undrafted and sign with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers as a wide receiver
The fact that nobody got drafted means...nobody left the team
Notre Dame lost a three-year starting quarterback, three-year starting wide receiver, four year starting left tackle, and three-year (?) starting center to the draft.
Good luck with the new system, Mr. Kelly. Your circumstances remind me of a certain coaching change from '08...
Even better than this, the fact that even Hillsdale has sent someone to the league before a player from MSU! LMAO
... of the two ESPN info-babes hovering at the Clausen and McCoy family compounds. Feeling spunky Thursday night, Friday night all you could see was an empty broom closet.
I guess we can't feel too sorry for Jimmay, since she was close by Thursday night. He should have tested out a few tango moves.
Won't officially come until Tony Pike is named starting QB in Carolina ahead of Jimmy Clausen.
when we haven't beaten them in what feels like forever.
My Sparty Brother-in-Law called me to tell me they were calling Zoltan Mesko "probably Michigan's biggest offensive weapon," when he got drafted, hoping for a little Michigan Schadenfreude.
I responded that it's true, but it's less of a denigration on Michigan's offensive players, and more a statement about Mesko's ability to tell planets to realign.
