For me it has to be Mario Henderson. Dudes huge and hes got a tatoo under his neck that says Death Before Dishonor. Who is the football player you are most scared of?
OT: Scariest Football Player
Dude got away with murder and he's nuts in the head. Don't think I'd want to cross him. Weird topic by the way, haha, can't wait for UConn!
Yes I know it is a strange topic. Here is how I got to thinking about it, I was talking to a couple friends of mine while we were watching MNF then there was that hit on Eli and one thing led to another and we got to talking about what football players we were most scared of.
I ran into him a few years ago in a customs line in Sao Paulo... As I was standing in line for which seemed like forever he thought he was too good for it and thought he could go to the front of the line.... However they don't know or care who he is in Brazil... So he got sent to the back of the line. But when the guy walked past me he was just plain massive.
Mark Herzlich looks pretty insane with his paint job. Gotta love this guy and his story.
edit: damn it I can't get the image to work
Definitely OJ. The dude literally kills people.
Roethlisberger. Some day I will die don't know if I will be murdered, but I'm gonna try and avoid being raped at all cost.
Craig Roh. When he furrows his eyebrows I poop my pants.
Plaxico took the goof up to another level
If I was having to catch a pass Brian Dawkins no question.
If I was running the ball, Julius Peppers circa 2007
Jared Allen. He looks like a hillbilly from Deliverence that could both chase me down, and make me squeal like a pig. He's a big, dumb hick...
rey maualuga is the first guy i can think of. that dudes a thug
LT hands down if we can go old school.
Jack Tatum: "I like to believe that my best hits border on felonious assault."
"The Assassain" was really out to get you. Plus, he went to Ohio State, which makes him even scarier.
I had nightmares of Spike as kid. I would have said The Icebox but I'm more afraid of getting beat by her rather than actually being scared of her.
Brandon Carter - TTech is pretty scary.
Of course, if you play defense, I suppose the guy you are most scared of is/was Barry Sanders. Gotta worry about your ankles (and pride) trying to tackle him.
Ray lewis is awsome and pretty crazy, Shawn merriman does his lights out dance after he crushes you, but then again, guns don't kill people, Lamarr Woodley does.
Not only to play against, but from hearing the stories of him it probably would have sucked to be on his team if you were on his bad side. short fuse on an unpredictable bomb.
Vernon Gholston when he was at OSU. Have you seen his arms??!
Ray Lewis currently though.
Pretty much the entire Miami team from the mid 80's.
I think Jerry Rice said it best when he remarked that nobody ever caught him because he always played scared. You're motivated to run very fast because your life depends on it.
The thought of facing a D-1 or NFL combo block frightens me. I would dive to the ground and hope that the OL decided not to just fall on me.
The first names that popped into my head were Ronnie Lott and LT. But I may have to go with The Boz:
wholesale and retail jerseys of NBA NFL NHL MLB jersey-boys.com
James Harrison without a doubt. The man's nickname is silver back. Also for further evidence check out the video of him flattening a Cleveland fan that ran on the field during a game.
Old School: LT, dude used to snort coke out of his gloves on the sideline during games. Nothing like a coked up maniac trying to decapitate you to spark a little fear in playing against him.
Now: Shawne Merriman or Ray Lewis
Sitting down on the bench, he was about as tall as me, and I think his arms were about as big as my waist...
Obligatory Penn State death picture, etc
Deacon Jones - "Secretary of Defense" Coined the phrase "sack", invented the ear-hole head slap, now banned, used to say if you slap your women upside the head, she blinks, and on the football field that "blink" was just enough time to get by the lineman to destroy the QB.
Dick Butkus - A man among boys. A menacing figure who would stop running backs at their top speed coming through the line with his arms alone and would pick them straight up and body slam them to the turf.
Ray Nitschke - NFL's Best LB in '69. Played in the elements when players were men!
Hang 'em high! Dick "night train" Lane
I was going to say Deacon Jones, but he was taken.. So I went with #2. How he didn't leave several guys paralyzed with some of those hits, I will never understand.
In flag football practice one year a friend of one of our players came to practice with us. He was a DIII O lineman and got hurt, moved into coaching, but he could for sure still play some. Anyway, I was playing linebacker, and we ran a play where he "Pulled" and was out in front of a wideout screen or something. I'm about 6' 195 and with him out in space, I got straight up pancaked, and he didnt seem to notice. (It probably would have been a penalty in real flag, but this was practice)
He apologized, but even seeing this 280lb guy out in space without pads was terrifying. I can just imagine what a pulling Jake Long looks like to cornerbacks...
Ray Lewis no question. He is nuts and murders people on and off the field. Would not want to cross Romonowski either. He has a number of screws loose.
Poor Ray Lewis will never get away from the false premise that he murdered someone.
Pretty sad, really.
