OT: Sanchez sets Franchise Record with 17 Ks
Any chance he comes back out for the ninth?
With about 121 pitches I doubt it especially this early in the season and with the game all but over.
I am glad I checked this before I created the exact same thread. What a great signing Sanchez has been this year. I was a little skeptical about his contract at the beginning of the season but he has been great so far this season. What a great performance tonight!!
I was skeptical as well but he has been real good this year.

Really didn't understand the skepticism surrounding Sanchez at all.
He's been a top 30 pitcher since 2010.
Congrats to him and very well deserved. This Braves team is gonna obliterate our franchise record for Ks and the MLB record might not be out of reach. If there's a team I'd pick to lose to, it'd be the Tigers (well except for the obnoxious comments I have to deal with from friends). Looking forward to taking in my 2nd Braves game tomorrow (first was during the Final Four).

Unfortunately this team/type of team will put up nights like tonight. Ugh..that wasn't fun watching the boxscore tonight. Maholm came back to earth too, obviously. Oh well, this team has been pretty fun overall thus far, and again, we're 'gonna have to take the lumps through the season along with the fun stuff.

I was sitting a few rows behind home plate watching the M SB game on my gametracker. Sanchez was dirty all right. He was filthy nasty.

Sidenote: I know it was one inning but if Rondon can keep pitching like that and command his triple digit heater then our bullpen might not be DOOM.
Only two Braves managed to evade putting up a "K", and they were both in-game substitutions - Tyler Pastornicky and Jordan Schafer. Dan Uggla, Freddie Freeman and Juan Fransisco accounted for 11 of the 18 strikeouts by Tigers pitching.
My work group had the suite tonight too, and I couldn't go last night, but this was just as fun to watch on television.

I was very happy last summer when the Tigers acquired Sanchez, but no way did I expect him to pitch as consistantly well as he has, as I expected him to be a solid-to-very-good #4 in the Tiger's rotation. Right now, so far this season, he's pitching like an Ace (1.34 ERA so far this season with a K/BB ratio of 41 / 9 in 32 2/3 innings). Not that JV and Fister are exactly slouches, either (1.95 and 2.00 ERA's, respectively), and even Mad Max has been very good except for one start in cold, rainy weather this past week.
Too bad the bullpen has sucked all too often and the hitting disappears when the Tigers are on the road, otherwise instead of being just 11-10 so far this season, we'd be looking at a very impressive start of somewhere around 10+ games over .500 at this point.
Then again, the reality is, Leyland manages this team, not Sparky...
