Just saw a sad article about Chris Spielman:

I guess you can see what it is from the link name. As a former Detroit Lions great (and unfortunately an OSU great as well) I feel bad for him. He's actually a pretty decent color commentator and I wish him success.

It's things like this that put the game in some perspective.

The only lions game I went to when I was younger, my dad and I stayed after and I got an autograph from Spielman. Needless to say I was a huge fan of his after that (despite his ohio roots). This is sad news. RIP.

This shouldn't diminsh anything about the game but it is a reminder that it is only a game.

Being behind enemy lines I hear Chris on his radio show and anytime courage or toughness comes up he admits his wife had more strength and toughness than he or anyone he played with. She was on his show once talking about how do you tell the children that mommy is sick on the inside and it was one example of toughness I can't imagine and don't want to imagine having.

Chris is a classy guy and I wish he and his family nothing but the best. I know the whole Michigan family feels for the Spielman family. Please say a prayer for Chris and his four young children.

when you look back at how Chris played the game for him to say Stephanie was the toughest person he knew... wow. the work that Stephanie did before her passing I'm sure will allow her legacy to carry on in the lives of many thousands of people. may Stephanie RIP and thoughts and prayers go out to all who loved her.

may our father provide them comfort in this difficult time. My mother passed away from cancer; it was a difficult time but I felt her passing overall came suddenly after a lenghty bout. Hopefully Stephanie's passing was sudden and painless.
I remember Chris as a Buckeye and as a Lion and the one word that would describe him as a player was warrior; he was fearless and determined. I wish we would of had him as a Wolverine.
