OT: Rooting for Ohio State to win tonight?

Submitted by PepperHicks on

Are you pulling for an OSU win to improve the B1G's tire fire conference reputation, or is it simply not in your DNA?  For me, as much as I'm sick of hearing about how inferior the B1G is, I just can't... I just can't.

I want Shazier to play out of his mind. I want Miller to "ball out" as he mentioned weeks ago to the media. Then, I want both of them to get the hell out of the BigTen.
And at the end of it all, I want OSU to lose in the worst way possible.

I couldn't bring myself to actively root for Ohio State, although I rather have that same feeling about Clemson. I may very well just sit back and watch this one as I have no appreciable rooting interest in the outcome.

That being said, Massey actually slightly favors Ohio State in this one with a 56% projected win probability and a projected median score of 38-35. Somehow, the score sounds about right, although I think the game really is a good each-way bet. TeamRankings drew a similar conclusion based on the data.

Conference pride is overrated. If we win all of our games we'll surely be in the top 4 and do you really think the big ten is going to pass the SEC from MSU beating Stanford and Ohio beating Clemson. We need to win national titles and a lot of them.

I'm rooting for Braxton Miller to throw for 800 yards and go pro. I'm also rooting for Ohio to lose by 700 points. I don't understand the urge to root for Ohio to win because it might make sports reporters like the B1G, and by extension Michigan, more...Ohio winning will never prove a net positive for Michigan, EVER. Stop thinking it will!

These questions always amuse me. First asking if we're rooting for Sparty and now if we're rooting for OSU. What should we ask next? If we're rooting for cancer? The answer is obvious. FUCK OSU.

To repay for the 1979 Gator Bowl by punching an Ohio player. /s Revenge is a dish best served cold, but unfortunately, they aren't playing in Green Bay.

Never. Not in a million years. I could care less what the rest of the world thinks of the conference. I only root for my team, and the opponents of my team's rivals.

and a lose-lose.

OSU wins? Big Ten looks better but Ohio that much more annoying
OSU loses? Ohio sad but Big Ten looks worse

I'm kind of indifferent

I hope they get blasted but I don't think Clemson is actually all that good.  However, Ohio missing two of its best defensive players on its already porous D means that this should be entertaining at the very least.

I'm rooting for one of the cheerleaders having a "wardrobe malfunction" during a live close up- and I am hoping there is nothing underneath and that the video editor is so stunned by the event that he pauses and forgets to press the button to go to camera # 3.

I'm sorry, what was the question again?

And speaking of our rivals, I just landed in Chicago with a plane full of Sparty fans. Upon a particularly turbulent landing, one group yelled, "Go green!" And then a second group yelled,"Go white!" In response. I feel for those of you who live in Michigan and will have to hear it for the next year.

I'll be rooting for a 2 game losing streak for Urbz....  I don't think a win by Ohio does much to improve the view of the conference.  The New Year's day showing gave us a modest boost from couch fire to tire fire conference.   Seriously, its just not worth a slight bump in popular opinion to root for Ohio.  I'll personally get more mileage out an absolute beatdown of Urbz than SECPN saying the B1G is slightly better than awful for a few days.

I also am not rooting for Bernie Madoff, Satan, or the government of North Korea, and all other bad people/ things. Btw, Ohio is worse than all the things I mentioned.

Never root for Ohio St. The hell with the for the good of the conference BS. The narrative is set that the B1G sucks and ESECPN is not diverting from it. So I say Go Tigers!!! (For both games tonight).

I hope the Big Ten team wins in games. Same thing occurs in basketball. I would be pissed if Michigan only lost one game in a season and not get a playoff, BCS spot. I am tired of being in a bad conference.
