OT; Roethlisberger the victim?

Submitted by tomhagan on
Supposedly his accuser had written a series of emails before the alleged "rape" detailing her desire to have sex with Roethlisberger: http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news;_ylt=Ah.MYEDFWj9z0HsKfiBuvohDubYF?slug… Man..I know if I were a celeb or athlete, Id videotape every time I banged some strange woman and get her to sign a consent form... otherwise psychos like this one (apparently) will turn it around on you for $.

As a woman, I have to say that the worst part is women who lie about being raped, it makes it harder for women who actually are sexually assaulted to be believed. If it turns out to be true that she lied, I'd think pro athletes would definitely be running scared of the same thing happening to them.

D12 "I'll be Damned" "I'm sure as hell ain't gonna go to court for my mother, or my wife, and my sisters. So motherf--k a mistress. They signin' a contract before these bitches hit this. Never will a woman take me out that way. I keep a RCA camera in there motherf----n' face." Yup, quoted a rap song.

Same thing kinda sorta happened to Bettis about 5 years ago. He was accused of sexual assault, from a criminal standpoint, but the investigation revealed the accuser had a history of making false claims and that is how the cops eventually ruled in that one. Case dismissed rather quickly. The lady in the Roethlisberger case comes off as a little crazy and not that credible. If this whole thing is fabricated, I would echo all the thoughts on how much damage she is doing the cases of women who are actually assualted.

This whole discussion is one where I'm pretty ignorant. (happily married, and satisfied, thank you very much.) However, gold diggers / people exploiting those with money have been around forever. (I'm thinking of an old movied called "An Officer and a Gentleman" with Richard Gere.) I guess I don't understand why Rothlisberger & Pitino et al don't just assume this is what is going to happen. Maybe they're thinking too much with the wrong head. In a sense, Pitino and Roth were "using" these women to get what they wanted. Is it shocking that these women were "using" Rick & Ben to try to get what they want? I want to be careful here so the morals police don't jump on this. Frankful, it is none of my business what these guys do or don't do in their personal lives, as long is it's legal, I suppose. Morality isn't the issue. But historically, many guys have wanted sex, no strings attached. The implicit "contract" from the woman's POV has not quite been the same. For the woman, it is dinner, a date, going steady, even marriage, in order for the guy to get the sex. Things are changing. I've heard that on campus now a days, women are more enlightened, and the same as men: just after casual sex, nsa. But old habits die hard. If a high profile guy is just out to get some, it seems clueless for him not to realize that for many women, they're not just out to get some, but to get something else.
