OT: RIP Ryan Dunn

Submitted by Rescue_Dawn on
JackAss Star Ryan Dunn was killed last night in a car accident in Philly. Always sad when someone so young passes....he supposedly posted pictures on his twitter account hours prior of him drinking at a party. Nothing is confirmed, but don't drink and drive people.

Wow, thoughts and prayers to his friends and family. He was always my favorite as well. Just watchted an episode of "Minute to Win it" with him and Steve-O it last week. Always seemed like a really cool guy.

Loved Dunn on Jackass, Viva la Bam and I even remember him having a pilot for his own show entitled "Homewrecker" where he would help contestants play pranks on friends and then demonstrate practical jokes to viewers.

RIP

They said this was posted on twitter 2 hours before the crash but was taken down.  Did not think I was going to see it.  Was watching Ryan Dunn youtube videos.  One were Ryan and Bam got pulled over speeding and talking about how they want to make it there alive was weird to watch.  RIP.  Never going to be the same without him.

Wow, this is hard to believe. I just watched Jackass 3.5 the other night on MTV. Dunn was one of my favorite guys to watch on there. Too sad to hear this. My thoughts go out to his family and friends.

Condolences to his friends, family, but I have little to no sympathy for drunk drivers, especially those who kill their passengers right along with themselves.

What assumptions? Reports are that he was the driver, and he posted a picture to the internet of himself drinking just shortly before. They said he was going over 110 mph on the freeway. I guess I'm assuming the reports are true but if we went down any other road, I would say he's not actually dead.

It's sad, but I don't have sympathy. This isn't even a sports guy, I dunno what it's doing on MGoBlog.

"This isn't even a sports guy, I dunno what it's doing on MGoBlog."

Hence the OT....if you wanna stick to pure sports related topics take your soap box to a thread not labeled OT. Based on the demographics of this blog....most people have grown up watching Dunn on television. Its pretty tragic when someone your age (relatively young) passes away regardless of why or who was at fault. Nobody asked for your sympathy.

doesnt mean "above the legal limit". Is it entirely possible that some adult beverages are what led to driving down a dark road at 100mph at 3 am? Yes. Is it also likely that this was not the first and/or only adult beverage he had that evening? Sure. Do you know that? Or is that your assumption based on less than all the facts? Were you there keeping track of the number of drinks imbibed? Doubtful

As I get older it amazes me how many people "know" things who really have no clue.  If you want to speculate, call a stockbroker.

Here's what I know. People are dead. Families and friends are left behind to pick up the pieces. If anything, our hearts should be going out to them.

All I was suggesting is that people should temporize their judgments due to the fact that they almost certainly do not have enough information be be offering such damning criticism. (in fairness, that is kind of hypocritical of me, because I am assuming they do not have the facts)

If you want to say driving 110 MPH on a country road is a bad idea, I dont think you'll find many who will argue. I know I won't

Damn, this is horrible. I just watched Jackass 3.5 the other night on tv as well. He was hilarious, and definitely one of my favorites too. Loved Jackass, and Viva La Bam. I wonder when people are going to stop drinking and driving.

What a talented invidual, with so much in front of him. How many of us are simply fortunate to have never had something this catastrophic happen in our personal lives. I'm so sorry for the loved ones he left behind.

One thing I'm curious about:  In a tragedy like this, is a blood draw done to conduct analysis on the estimated BAC at the time of the accident? As said above, it is inappropriate to make assumptions. But I'm wondering to what degree BAC contributed to impaired judgement. The press release indicated that car speed may have been partially a factor in the accident.

They usually will draw blood and/or extract ocular fluid (from the eyes) to do the analysis. I've been an attorney in cases where this was an issue- which is more accurate for determining the BAC at the time of death, etc. Regardless, I imagine they did something of the sort. We don't know if Dunn was actually driving, though.

Judging by the pictures of his car, there might not be anything left to test. I hope they were killed on impact. That would be a very painful death to be pinned in that car and burned alive. RIP buddy.

He was a funny guy, but its hard to feel any sympathy when he made such a stupid decision. Even if he was not drunk, driving 110 is not safe and should never be done. He was 35 not 15.

Sad to see someone pass this young. Hopefully the drunk driving rumors aren't true, but it doesn't seem that way. I always thought if any of them were to die it'd be doing a stunt. Still very sad.

That someone from Jackass hasn't died before this? I mean, it's like the Crocodile Hunter...it's sad, but you continue to do stupid things and take unnecessary risks (which at minimum this seems to be), it's not tragic when it bites you in the ass. Only if you take others with you.
