OT- R.I.P. Boner, R.I.P

Submitted by Max Power on

The body of the actor who played "Boner" on the hit family sitcom "Growing Pains" was found in Vancouver.

Although he was not a very popular character he paved the way for others. Without hime there is no Steve Urkel,Screech Powers, or Kimmie Kibler.

I am not going to judge anyone on this thread or anywhere else for that matter. If a post like this came out prior to the new year I would likely have been one of the guys making light of the situation by cracking jokes about the thread title.

However, my Father passed away on January 13th and since I have had a whole different outlook on death. I always felt bad for people during times like this but simply in a "oh, that's too bad" kind of way.

I now have an appreciation for what people go through in times like this and it has changed my way of thinking entirely. RIP and my prayers are with his family.

about the actor Boner.

But when I saw the title, I thought somebody may have had a major malfunction.

Wow, that picture of the belt around that nice set would certainly resurrect any boner! mega m points to you for sharing!

I didnt think about it that way, but now that you mention it my wife is pregnant. So RIP sex life, I hardly knew you. And although I appreciate that belted booby pic, its just twisting the knife.

no, Kirk is still in shock that his lessor known co-star was taken in the rapture and he wasn't.

all kidding aside, I loved this show and always found his character funny as hell...no joke, i remember getting emotional watching the episode when boner went into the marines and he and mike said goodbye on the driveway.

they also named his dad's character (on growing pains) sylvester...sylvester stabone, which i loved.

my heart goes out to those close to him.

At what point in time is having the kid's name being "Boner" a good idea? The studio execs and the show's producers must have been getting high off their own supply.

Also, for a kid to take a role as "Boner"... well you've got to be pretty desperate to make it in Hollywood.

That being said, I thought it was awesome.
