OT: RIP Art Donovan

Submitted by MaizeMN on

Played 12 years, mostly for the Colts, winning 2 Super Bowls. Old-school, WWII vet and funny as hell. I still remember the Miller Lite  commercials and NFL interviews. 88 years of age; God speed Art. They don't make many like that guy anymore. Great Carson interview here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7HDRLnoAY9E

The Carson interview is definitely worth a look:

Donovan was on Letterman in 1986 with a longer and arguably ever funnier interview here. Point being, the man's recollections of his football days are incredibly entertaining.

...of the NFL Films productions on the Colts or wacky things that happened during his era. He was quite the character and will be missed.

So funny and the great stories about Bobby Layne. Cheating in college was great and playing on a field of elephant poop:). May heaven be full of cans of Spam and cold cuts Art. A true American story teller.
