I am a fan of Richard Sherman, and I found this to be pretty good. Frank Caliendo does great NFL impersonations.
mesmerism! presidential assassinations! circuses on fire!
Totally worth watching it just to see his Belichick
Belichick and Kiper are the best two in my opinion.
Would be better with Charles Barkley in it .. TUUUURRRRIBLE!
My favorite Frank Caliendo stuff is Bush, Clinton, and Charles. Jon Gruden is definitely getting up there fast though.
Thanks for sharing, great impressions! I was worried for a second he would do a richard sherman impression.... glad he didn't.
On the whole, though, I'm not sure why he's considered a good comedian/impersonator.
I"m not a Caliendo fan by any means, but it's undeniable that the man is pretty damn incredible at impersonations.
His impersonations are not dead-on like some of the greats (Rich Little, Stephen Frye), but it is what he does with his impersonations as characters interacting that is hilarious.
Madden: Now here's someone...now here's someone...now here's someone who has gone of on a...off on a....off on a tangent!
Bush: Tangents! That's my favorite fruit!
Clinton: I like melons!
Caliendo is one of the few comedians who doesn't need to be raunchy to be funny. Great impressions, his Bill Walton is another one the I love, "I'm smelling colors".
I liken his impersonation style to that of a great caricature artist. Like you said, he doesn't nail the impression of the guy (nor is that really his goal), but he way over exagerrates the little unique speech and behavioral quirks of his subject. It really makes for some great stuff sometimes and there's no doubt he's real good at what he does.
That was pretty funny, I thought, and he did get the distracting elements of guys like Ron Jaworski and Chris Berman more or less dead on, I thought. I have to say, just like the real Berman, I suddenly found myself focusing more on the hands than anything and it seems like that might have been the point. Very good effort here really.
I heard this for the first time on the way home from work, on the radio. I was able to identify most of the voices. That in itself is pretty damned impressive.Did wonder about the silence during the Harbaugh bits, though.
Frank is so good, that when I hear the real, actual people talking... I'm turribly dissappointed.
His Gruden immitation may be the best. But, I didn't think anyone could imitate Belichick well, but he pulled it off masterfully.
Belichick strikes me as one of the easier ones.
providing the cameo was cool, too. Classic.
Caliendo did a spoof of Kiper where they pitted him against McShay in a draft debate that was pretty well done too.
Have always been a fan of his work. The Belechick and Jaworski ones were probably my favorites. He does such a good job identifying little unique things that they do and then takes them up to a whole new level. Bravo!
TODD TODD TODDD TODD
Dijon Sanders and Jawz were my favorites, but they are all pretty good. Man has some talent - I love his De Niro, Christoper Walken, and Ted Knight (Caddyshack & voice overs for Super Friends cartoon).
