Pretty goddamn a lot. Their first round opponent is totally fucked. Which sucks because it's presently Phoenix, who is cool beans. Wings-Yotes would be a way better WCF than a first round series. If the Yotes can make up 4 points on SJ this last week, oh man that would ROCK ROCK ROCK. The Hawks appear to be the 2010 incarnation of last decade's Sharks. But who knows? All I know is I can't speak English anymore. HOCKEY FUCKING RULES

But i was wondering what everyone though of the new NHL Playoff commercials. Personally i think they are great, they bring back memories from past seasons and they have developed an internet parody sensation. Here is a website with tons of them http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/blog/puck_daddy/post/Parody-Will-Be-Made-NH… Back on topic, i think the Wings are still not yet to their prime and hopefully this prime is met in the first round when they beat whoever in four straight. The Wings are playing great, i will not go into detail because you know already. I really have been impressed with Howard's work on his rebounds, he is really sending the rebounds away from the play whereas earlier this season he was giving the opponent great second chances. HOWARD FOR THE CALDER!!!!!!

I'm just happy that it looks like they are going to make the playoffs. I would love for them to win at least one series but I'd be satisfied if they just show up.

you wouldn't think it's the Wings' year. But watching them play lately makes me think they're the same old dominant team, so why not this year? The West's top teams have been struggling lately, and the East as a whole is pretty terrible this year.

Agreed. The West is strange this year. IMO no clear cut favorite at this point and really there could be any of probably 6 teams to come out of it. Who is the best team? It's not really clear to me. I think the Wings are one of the top 3 in the West but not much separates the top 6. Col/LA/CGY are a step below and I cannot see them winning the West but they could certainly pull some upsets.

that they win their first play-off series, then in the second they lose in 2OT in the 7th game after a controversial, shall we say, disallowed goal by the Wings in the first OT. Also, they will be the lowest seed in the West after the first round and so will face the one seed who (even if it's San Jose) will win the first round. Too soon?

...Detroit vs. Pittsburgh Stanley Cup finals. Wings win this time...and although everyone should be happy, some are complaining about how boring these Detroit/Pittsburgh match ups are becoming (but immediately place bets on the Penguins in 2011).

A third Wings-Pens would be nice, and I can't tell you how I would kill to see Crosby cry again (Jimmy Howard face wash), but looking at how Pittsburgh has been playing other East Conference powers (0-4 against New Jersey, not so hot against the Caps), there is no guarantee they'll win their conference this year. Wings look and feel like the team to beat in the West and I can't wait to see how this plays out.

No more Pittsburgh. Last year they were the only team in the East I was afraid of. Now? I'm just sick of seeing them, and I'd prefer to not listen to McGuire and Olcyzk deepthroat Crosby anymore.
