"Pens have to be the most unlikeable team in history."
Apparently someone wasn't a Red Wings fan in the mid-90s...

But outside of Claude Lemiuex and Roy, the Avs had some likeable players. The Guins', not so much.

"Pens have to be the most unlikeable team in history."
Ehm, I wouldn't be so sure about that one.

The only thing worse than the way the Wings are playing is being forced to listen to these tools circle jerk all over Crosby.
I especially loved the 5 minutes they spent talking about that one Crosby backcheck. Nevermind the fact that its the exact same thing that Helm, Eaves, Miller, Zetterberg, and Datsyuk do on EVERY shift they play.

To be fair you would also then have to recognize that for the entirety of the first 15 minutes of the game all that the announcers talked about were Red Wings story lines. My point: don't be so biased.

I agree. Especially the injury excuse. That might have flown a few weeks ago, but it doesn't excuse the way this team is playing now with almost everyone back.
I still maintain that NBC's coverage is horrible.

I absolute agree on your last point! They're the worst. Right up there with Versus.

The reason the Pens are dominating right now is because they are playing the Grand Rapids Griffins featuring some Red Wings. I mean the Pens are one of the best teams in the league and the Red Wings still have more injuries than an emergency room.

there isn't much to like about any team in pittsburgh

with Paul Maholm pronouncing his last name "Ma-hollum"?
(he said, expecting this not to resonate with most people)

Oh I get it, a baseball joke.

It just bugs me a little.
Don't get me started on pronoucing Favre "Farve". Or in keeping with the hockey subject, Jonathan Toews. How does he get "Taves" out of that?
January 31st, 2010 at 2:57 PM ^
Up until about November, I honestly had no idea who these Taves person was. I was a big fan of Jonathan Toews though.

Please get out of this game with at least one point.

It seems the Wings finally arrived some time in the second intermission. Some great hockey going on right now.

after being thoroughly outplayed. I am convinced now more than ever that Jim Howard is our lord and saviour.

much needed point.
They just can't ever seem to a win a game that goes past regulation.
January 31st, 2010 at 4:56 PM ^
Wow. We're resorting to Jason Williams as our 2nd shooter in the shoot-out? Man, we are really deficient on offensive skill players at this point. Amazing we're still in the hunt for the playoffs.
