OT: Red Wings vs Hawks Game 6 Open Thread

Submitted by I Bleed Maize N Blue on

Hoist one for the fallen.

Elimination game #2.  The Hawks squirmed out a bit from under the Wings' boot, but the Wings can still eliminate them with a win at the Joe, which will be rockin'.  Don't really want to go back to Chicago for game 7, so they need to bring more energy.  And stay out of the damn box!

I really hate conspiracy theories and don't really see why the league and/or its refs would be against the wings, but it really seems like we get the short end of the stick on most iffy calls. That has to be the weakest fucking penalty shot call I've ever seen. I'm just so pissed about this

What in the name of Alex Delvecchio is going on here?  A close out game at home and you dont even show up for the third perid?  Did they think the BlackHawks were going to lay down and die?

Feels like the worst possible scenario for this game, and potentially game 7 if we don't come back. We need to finish strong

It's going to be a bitch trying to win game 7 in Chicago, especially after them winning 2 in a row. I just don't see it happening, unless Babcock can light a fire under his players' asses.

This series reminds me of the Pistons-Magic in 2003. The Magic got out to a 3-1 lead before the superior Pistons blew them out of the water in the next three games. The Wings are getting manhandled by a better team. It's unusual to see that, but every franchise comes back down sooner or later.

for a few minutes in each game esp the last 2, enough for Chicago to gain the edge.  For the most part, yes even.  But when it hasn't been even and tilted Chicago's way its been brutal the last 2 games.

Chicago's 3 wins are 4-1, 4-1, 4-2 and Detroit looked poor in extended minutes of those games.  ie manhandled

Wings need 2 top 6 forwards. Cleary and Franzen - man, those guys are good depth guys but shouldn't be top 6 forwards on a team with Cup aspirations.
