OT- Red Wings trade for Kyle Quincey
3 team trade. Downie to Colorado, Quincey to Detroit, prospect Sebastien Pische and our 2012 1st round pick to Tampa. I was displeased when we let him go for nothing a few years ago. I think Holland moves one of our dmen before the deadline now (Stuart, Ericsson, Commodore, or Kindl), for a top 9 forward. Thoughts on the move? Also, kinda cool to see Holland making a deal with Stevie Y.

Any deadline rumblings? Guessing any rumors surrounding Selanne or Ryan have quelled? God I'd give my left nut for Bobby Ryan to be in a winged wheel.

I like the Quincey trade a lot. Seems like when he was in Detroit before he just could never quite break into the top 6, but he seemed to flourish once he got some steady playing time in LA and Colorado. I think he'll add good depth for this years playoff run, and be an insurance policy against any injuries on D that might pop up.
As for next year, I could see Stuart and Lidstrom both leaving so I bet Holland makes a huge push to get Shea Weber who will be a UFA. And for some reason I have a really good feeling that they can land him. So for next year the pairings would be:
Weber-White
Kronwall-Quincey
Ericson-Kindl/Smith/some other veteran UFA signing
First things first though, let's win the cup this year and send Nick out a winner!!
