Top 8 in west make playoffs...home ice means little

Franzen is GREAT in playoffs - above average in regular season.

Franzen back for playoffs...unless the wings are fighting for the 6th spot in the playoffs this doesn't hurt their chances for a cup IMO.

This fucking kills. There is no way it can be a complete tear if he is expected back in 4 months. I tore my ACL in my teens and was out 9 months before I was even close to 100%. Wings can't catch a break this year... fuck.

I guess I should also mention that he is on my fantasy team. I drafted Hossa late knowing that I could put him on IR but now I'm not sure who I'll keep.

We lost a shit load of goals fron the guys that left. This is going to hurt big time. There is no one of his ability in the system. If he is not back by the playoffs the Wings are in deep trouble, this sucks.

As a Michigan, Tigers, and Red Wings fan, I have to say that this is one of the worst seven day stretches that I've ever endured. I honestly cannot think of one thing that went right (outside of hockey exhibitions).

Yeah, this mantra is kind of getting old. People say the Wings always draft well, but since Ericsson in 2002 the Wings haven't been world beaters.

Right now we already have a lot of youth on the team. We lost a ton of offense in the off season, and losing one of our best forwards now isn't going to help. We've already reached pretty far down into Grand Rapids this season. There's a lot of potential, but not necessarily a ton of NHL ready contributors in my opinion. At least, not ready to step in for a guy like Franzen.
