Go Wings! We need one team to win to get over this state of Michigan sports curse.

Nice Original 6 matchup tonight!

Datsyuk's injury hurts, so we'll need our young 3rd and 4th lines to really step up. After the Zetterburg line, we have some question marks.

I like our Defensive lines heading into the season. Hoping for more success than we had last year!!!

I feel the opposite of you. I think or forwards are a little young but skilled and carried the team down the stretch last year. On the blue line, anyone not named Kronwall or DeKeyser is shaky at best. I really wish they would have kept Ouellet up in Detroit. He is clearly better than Lashoff or Kindl.

sorta snuck up on me.  Must be because Michigan Football and Tiger Baseball and Lions Football have been providing such riveting, championship-level play that ...No???

Now 2-1 good guys.  Detroit playing great in the 2nd.  Just under 3 minutes left in the period, another PP opportunity about to start.

(edit:  no penalty, no PP)

Go Wings!

I thought a couple weeks ago how weird it is that I now look forward to Michigan basketball and Tigers baseball vs. when I grew up anticipating Michigan football and Wings hockey. How times 'a change.

...and Helm was awesome. His speed was missed last year. In fact the whole team looks faster. Hot Sauce is gonna snipe 25 goals this year too. That little dude just buzzing around all night was fun to watch as well. Go Wings

I think this is the first in a long time we've seen some urgency out of the guys being pushed for jobs. Andersson and Kindl both played well enough to keep this spots in the lineup.

Went to the game as well, lots of bright spots. Jimmy came back very strong after letting in the first shot, team looked fast, Z was a possession monster, Nyquist still a stud, hell even Kindl looked solid. LGRW!

Great showing from the team; love home openers and a nice victory against a great team.

Joe Louis is a dump but I'm going to be sad to see it go. Truly not a bad seat in that barn.
