OT: Rece Davis Replacing Chris Fowler on Gameday

Come this fall, @ESPN_ReceDavis will replace @cbfowler on @CollegeGameDay @espn #CollegeGameday

Felt like this was coming after Davis was center stage in the CFP Gameday-type coverage and Fowler took on calling games this season, but still kind of amazing that Fowler won't be at the desk this fall.

I do enjoy them calling games. Now correct me if Im wrong but Blackledge was doing the tv segments on local food spots. These were always fun to watch. Other than that I'm not a big fan of Fowler or Davis to be honest. I have no real reason as to why other than they just rub be the wrong way.

Last season was rough. I found it uncomfortable to watch most of the time. Not sure he should drive so probably not a good idea to have him be a member of a live national telecast. While im cringing, desmond, kirk and fowler are laughing to try to make it come off as funny.

ESPN cant wait for his contract to be up.

Corso can barely put together coherent sentences.

4 years ago you were absolutely correct...now he just can't keep up. Similar to the final years of Keith Jackson.

It's awful to watch.

He'll say something and the other guys just kind of laugh politely and move on to the next thought. Half the time Herbie finishes his sentences for him because he can't articulate what he's trying to say.

He's go the energy, but his brain simply can't keep it like it used to so he just bounces around like a bumbling old man these days.

Lou Holtz has his speech problems, but at least he can make an argument or provide some insight. You can tell his brain is still firing. Corso is a shell of his oldself. Like I said, just like Jackson late in his career.

The comment about Les Miles is a good one. I can't think of another high energy old guy, but Corso needs to be replaced in a year or so.

They've already started to phase him out. He opens the show, does like one segement in the middle, and then does his mascot head. That's it. Pollack and Des are on far more than Corso these days.

FOUR.

That right there says enough...he's not even "THAT" Corso anymore. That was the funny old man Corso.

This one just sits there like a mummy.

I figured when you got all excited about him, that was the version of Corso in your head. He's not even close to that anymore.

He said Ah Fuck It in 2011.

That would be like me saying "TIM TEBOW IS A BONAFIDE NFL QB!!" That ship sailed awhile ago. In 2011, it was fine to argue for Tebow. There was still some unknown. Now? In 2015? No one is wondering if Tebow can be a QB in the NFL. Time has passed my friend.

Ah fuck it was pretty much Corso's last hurrah. Now he should be relegated to just putting on mascot heads at the end of the show each week.
