I know a lot of us laugh at the RCMB most of the time, but I thought this was pretty cool of them to do. A lot of the posters ordered pizzas and the like for the izzone while they wait outside for the game tonight. It would be a good idea for Michigan fans to do the same for the msu game when it comes up.http://michiganstate.247sports.com/Board/93/Official-FEED-the-IZZONE-thr...
OT: RCMB does something cool
For the MSU game, students have assigned seats, so nobody will be waiting.
I'll be in line at like 8 am for the Indiana game (I think) though if anyone wants to bring me food
as long as you find me a ticket which I will pay for.
this thread will not actually end well
I think it'll be okay.
Oh yeah? You think it will?
I'm going to buy a gun today before Obama bans their sale. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm looking for something that isn't good for hunting, sport shooting, or home defense.... I want something more offensive and possibly convertable to fully-automatic. Although I want to say I do enjoy hunting, going to mass daily, and voting against all "progressive" ideas.
And marijuana is not medicine.
Checkmate to your checkmate! Your points will return next month.
that was funny. Don't be a humorless prick.
I've sentenced kids younger than him to the gas chamber. Didn't want to. Felt I owed it to them.
(THAT is funny)
judge smale. great line among a boatload for that movie, including 'judge, don't sell yourself short. you are a tremendous slouch' followed by, 'my dad never liked you'.
Herm, you crazy old rascal!
Frank from Always Sunny
or this guy
That rant sounds nothing like an old, cranky man would issue. If you're going to play the part, play it right.
Herm for Heisman.
Accept no substitution.
I sent 2 small Domino's Pizzas and a can of Blue Diamond Almonds.
Good afternoon, Sparty.
I would really hope you do not actually hold a positive opinion of RCMB after spending more than five minutes on that board.
You either haven't spent much time at both boards or you aren't being honest with yourself. The ratio of intelligent posters to neanderthals here is >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> RCMB and I challenge any objective observer to prove otherwise.
I don't go to the RCMB very often but I can't imagine there is many more morons over there. If you've been a member of this board for a long time you'll know exactly what I'm talking about.
This board is very vigilant in publically chastising it's extremists and weirdos. In addition, the mods bring down swift judgement to any user or thread that crosses the line. Besides pretty awesome content and writing by the site's key players, this is why this is one of the premiere and most popular sports blogs on the internet. RCMB does not fall under that same umbrella, and while RCMB is indeed a big message board, it's user issues far eclipse our own.
I'd put the truly offensive stuff around here at about .25% of comments, or 1/400. The borderline offensive stuff is probably another .75%ish, trending higher or lower depending on the day, then the crazy homerific stuff is obviously a bigger number, and I can't put an accurate estimate on it because it's not something I read for. I'd still say that the homerific posts get pretty well ripped on a lot of the time here, though, especially the dumb kind that opposing fans might make fun of.
Shut the fuck up Nucky
You stay classy, San Diego.
He is even well-known on mgoblog for his imfamous trolling. Who is the more imfamous troll, nucky or azfootballfan/msuonaroute from mlive?
The 90% of the posts there that contain the word [insert deragatory use of "UM"] qualify as "idiotic comments to cherry-pick," but it can't really be considered "cherry-picking" when it constitutes 90% of their board.
No they don't. Ever.
So MSU fans bought other MSU fans pizza? Why is that a big deal?
Don't forget the middleman. They delivered the pizzas, too.
Haha. Internet winner for today
Let's not forget they also made the pizza boxes. Go Staee
I'm humbled by your greatness.
I heard there WERE no pizzas delivered, because all the delivery personnel were standing in the aforementioned line.
I have no interest in following a trend started by anyone affiliated with Michigan State.
Exactly, this is Michigan. We'll be giving our students a surf n turf paired with a three glass wine flight and a a glass of 12 year single barrel. If they'd like they can start with a wedge salad or a cup of the lobster bisque. If you'd like the soufflés (and trust me, you do), please let your server know in advance as it takes around 45 minutes to prepare.
I remember when Athletics felt compelled to bribe the Maize Rage with pizzas to get all like 150 of us to show up to watch some godawful basketball on a snowy evening.
Kids today are getting soft.
I seem to remember UM players doing this for students before the OSU game. I think this thing happens a lot. I am sure it is just as cool when MSU does it, but. Let's not give undue credit to their fans on the Internet. I don't really care about it. I just dont want young kids or the uninformed to think this is something cool Spartan fans invented or something.
Not much food at all, barely anybody got anything for the most part. They totally underestimated the line and only the earliest arrivers got anything.
Izzone has it easy too, their bleachers are so much bigger, they probably don't even need to wait that long, don't they have class anyway????? I know people who waited 4 hours outside for the OSU game here and sat 20 rows up in the upper level because our bleachers are so small.
I guess the amount of pizza is kind of a story. Sparty fans are donating a lot. I wonder why?
The Michigan game last week was a must win for the Spartan psyche. They can not slip behind in both basketball and football. They were so proud a few years ago and it has been rough last couple years for them.
They need to get the excitement back in their programs. If they lose to IU and drop tough road games at OSU and UM, they are essentially right back to where they were before they hosted UM. The fans are pumping each other up because they can't imagine going back to that so soon. They are bonding and rallying with pizza and the Izzone.
Lets see how it plays out.
Yup it was in the ESPN pictures for the One Day thingy.
Also, in the past, Beilein has done similar things for students waiting in line for stuff. (GA seating, ticket sales, greeting the team when they get back home from a road trip, etc.)
So, basically, the RCMB people are not doing anything that hasn't done before, and therefore can go back to being considered as a form of life less than human.
Didn't the MGoBlog community generate over $50,000 for Hail To The Victors through the kickstart program? And what about the Pahokee project? Mott's Children's Hospital?
Yea. Pizza's are nice but I like what our community has done.
Are the pizzas Dominos? If so Dave Brandon gets the last laugh!
In all seriousness, that is a really nice thing to keep those kids engaged and perked up for 7 o'clock... After Tuesday, I'm expecting big things from the atmosphere
Too bad the goodwill didn't extend to the company delivering the pizzas. Apparently the national chain (Little Caesars) went too far in wishing both teams good luck. Just a couple samplings followed by the LC tweet:
"WTF is a Michigan company wishing luck to the Hoosiers for?"
"Good luck to both teams?" Those cocky sons of bitches...
And this is why we do not follow whatever Sparty does. Someone will always resort to the LCD.
and Ilitch's daughter is a UofM regent, so it all makes sense!
So Breslin's a soup kitchen. Sounds about right.
