Best words to hear as a Steelr fan. "It's Ravens week". This is going to be yet another classic. Hopefully Pittsburgh pullsi t off and moves on.
He knows kung fu
EDIT: Sack Tracker: 1
EDIT EDIT: 1 fumble recovery
Even though, the Pats will beat either of these teams at home next week.
I really cant remeber, but did Troy play in the Pats game? It would be very different if he was out during that game.
Played, thinking that he didn't. Pats are a bad matchup for the steelers any way you look at it.
Close, low scoring, lots of defense, basically what everyone on NFL network said. 16-13 Baltimore in OT.
Anyone seen the new Old Spice commercial with RayLew riding a jet powed raven and destroying Saturn?

They better have given the Nanooks a royalty for this...
How bout Steelers vs Pats in AFC championship game? If it happens I should say.
I don't have a horse in the race but I always live watching these teams play. Defense, to me, is what football is all about. Woodley bringing the wood makes the difference: Pitt 17, Ravens 10.
.....except my kids are huge fans of Yo Gabba Gabba. Perhaps if they did the halftime show? Better still, lock myself in the basement and pretend I didn't hear the utter destruction upstairs.
DB starting QB for the Ravens, he can do it all.....
Great. An Auburn/Oregon esque tackle to start the game. Elbow hit, that'll be coming back.
Ugh...god damn screens. Harrison should've seen Gay coming in and try to go back into some coverage. Oh well.
the fuck? This isn't 4chan.
Congrats. You're the first person on my Ultra-MGoBoard blocklist! What an honor for you!
But if everyone blocks the trolls, who will be left to neg them?
/existential crisis
.....you'll have a far more glorious career as a serial arsonist than as a flamemonkey on this blog, so I gather.
This is a grown mans game. I am buying ice packs just watching this one.
Time to see if Big Ben gets another nose job.
If Stafford can stay healthy next year, the Lions will, dare I say, be good.
If Stafford can stay healthy, yes, they should win 8-10 games and compete for a wild card spot.
Big if though, obviously.
And the officials target the Steelers once again. Reed starts the BS, and only Ward gets called.
And Taylor headbutts Houshmanzadeh, and nothing gets called. Chill, the officials aren't hosing anybody.
In full disclosure... go Ravens.
3 gold stars to anyone who knows who Bradlee Van Pelt is. That's without googling him. He now offers expert coverage of the games on Sky Sports in the UK.
If I got that right, I almost feel bad...
PS I didn't know that the NFL was on in the UK. Is it mostly for expats or has this annual gamein Wembly acutally paid off for the league?
Started for the Bills for a little while, IIRC.
Like Cheesehead said Colorado State QB from a couple of years back. To justify this post he's also the son of Brad Van Pelt LB for MSU back in the day, died of a heart attack two-ish years ago. Grew up with/was kinda friends with my mom too, as a random personal side note
Like you all soda correctly he was the Colorado State QB and broke many records. He was in the NFL for a few years but never got any significant game time. He moved to play with the Leicester Falcons in the UK an I was able to way h him play. He was an absolute beast playing against guys who would struggle to make it against decent high school teams. Btw American football is the fastest growing sport in the UK
Touchdooooown Steelers! Great hit by Reed on the previous play though.
Glad to hear Michigan's own Dan Dierdorf doing this game!
He was always a favorite of mine of MNF. Wish he could do UofM games.
God damn Ryan Clark. I never liked him. He always whiffs on open tackles and only seems to make "big hits" on defenseless recievers, and just there might have taken Taylor our of the game. Ugh.
Rule of thumb: Any game that was predicted to be "A CLOSE BATTLE OF TWO GLADIATORS" by the Worldwide leader all week will turn out to be at least a double digit victory for one of the two teams
I know there is an obvious disparity in speed from College to Pros, but doesn't it seem that Mendenhall is as explosive as once was when at Illinois? Plus, he really doesn't have great vision and reading ability. I wonder if that is a product of playing in a read option offense, or the fact that he is pretty mediocre.
Mendenhall has not disappointed at all in Pittsburgh.
Yeah, from a production stand point he has done well these last two seasons. It just seemed like he was more of a "homerun threat" in college. He has become more of a buirser.
Baltimore's Defense is a notch or two above Northwestern's.
I'm watching the end of "Enter The Dragon" right now where Bruce Lee is kicking about ~6000 kung fu dudes' asses. And now he just picked up[ nunchukas. Damn. Time for football, I guess.
TJ Whosyomomma is a douche.
And on the next play, not sure how holding didn't get called.
but Taylor head butted him. Totally uncalled for.
Ed Reed also ripped Ward down by the facemask early on. Nothing get called.
And that last play on Bens knee made me have flashbacks of Tom Brady.
He was great lining up on the opposite of Chad Johnson when CJ was in his prime and sucking up double teams. Didn't think he was relevent anymore after flaming out in Seattle.
LAMARRRRRRRRRRR
Guns don't kill people, Lamarr Woodley kills people.
He is still one of my all time favorites. He such a beast. Wow, Ray Rice had a "tough" run right there.
Beat the Ravens so John Harbaugh will leave his successful NFL team at the drop of a hat and come here to work as our DC!
(Hey, it's only slightly less realistic than some of the suggestions that have been offered.)
Maybe Dick LeBeau will be our DC.
singing Victors, and something made me look up at the TV in time to see Woodley's sack. Coincidence?
Your "Wolverine sense" was tingling.
Are you talking about "Wolverdar?" Thought so.
Yes, actually. :)
The penalties are getting ridiculious in this game. Let em play.
Penalties are getting crazy, although the last few penalties on Pittsburgh during Balt's TD drive were legit.
Ben's knee got whacked. How the hell is that not a penalty? If that's Brady or Manning it's called. That's some shit. If you're going to call penalties every play at least get them right.
I remember Suggs getting called for diving at Brady's knees when he was actually trying to fall AWAY from him. Can't let a defender breathe on him god forbid.
Wow. Bad challenge by Tomlin I think. Very unfortunate though, and Im kinda amazed that the refs didnt call it dead, since at full speed it looks like an incomplete pass.
thats a fumble... Rothsberger is epic and Ravens D with their play.
Pick up the damn ball no matter what.
Way to go 0-Line from Pittsburgh
twiddling thumbs and scratching their asses. This is a "tough" game though, both teams have some serious "toughness".
That could be a game breaker. But Ben is always clutch as shit against Baltimore late in the game.
2 challenges in the first quarter. This could come back to haunt them later on. I'm a Cowboy fan. Rooting for Pit though because my dad likes em. Nice to see dad happy.
Out of all the players, Cory Redding (Matt Millen pick) was the only one smart enough to pick up the ball...
Watching that punt, it dawned on me whether we, as in UofM, will go back to traditional punt formations or stick with the rugby/spread formation.
And apparently NFL games aren't able to be streamed on Internet 'cause NFL sells those rights. FML.
At least they stopped Baltimore this time, let's tie this game up!
Ugh...probable block in the back penalty. Baltimore is going to be sniffing for two points.
field punts inside the 10, too!
Why are they going to the outside on runs when you line up in the endzone? God dammit I hate Bruce Arians.
Gee, it'd sure as shit be nice if we had a challenge right about now...fucking dammit Mendy.
Sucks to be out of challenges...
Cam Cameron where have you been all my life?!!?
No penalty for diving at Casey Hampton low?
Willy Gay picks off the other Steeler defender...sigh. I really hate seeing Flacco happy.
Wooooo! Go Ravens!
I have faith that Ben will lead the Steelers back again, and the D will come up with a big TO or 2
is this goiing to be a rout? Suprised by the way this has transpired. Are the Ravens the answer to the Pats?
I had no idea there was such a concentration of UM fans in Steeler Nation. I mean, I didn't expect there to be a lot of Ravens fans, but still.
By the way, why the heck do Steelers fans yell "HEEEEATH" after he gets a catch? Doesn't that sound like a rip off of the Ravens fans yelling " HEEEEEAP" after his catches? Just sayin.
Steelers fans are concentrated everywhere.. It's not uncommon to see them outnumber the home team's fans aganst some of the weaker teams in the league
that I root for NFL teams based on the Wolverine roster percentage. More Wolvs per yard on the Steelers, if you don't count coaches. (Prescott Burgess doesn't get a lot of play time.) There are occasionally a few other factors, so I can be flexible, but with no Wolverines it's a struggle.
I live in the metro DC, and especially in NOVA, they are everywhere. And come out of the wood works.
annnnd we gota ball game folks
Oh, yeah. JAMES HARRISON!
Well, living in Ohio you have to root for Pitt if you want a winning team. Haha, if you pick teams that way.
rut rooo, heres come the men in black
Ed Reed jawing at Ward again.
Ed Reed seems whiney. Like he shouldn't be blocked or something.
That's why defenders don't like Ward. He's more physical than they are, and then they whine like a pre-Madonna WR.
These refs are the best the NFL has to offer? It takes 45 minutes to figure out a holding call. Ray Lewis hasn't done much. Anytime someone says that it's a big play for Ray, he's a stone cold killer.
Are they even now?
HUGE interception by Clark. GO MENDY GO!
HIIIIIIIIIIINES
You are a beast.
Wow, that was huge. Nice play my Heniz and Roethlisberger.
Hines Ward TD 21-21.
Ravens are self-destructing
Wow, Baltimore is completely falling apart.
Tomlin is going to have to pick out the fattest fan in the stadium to play OT for them.
Casey Hampton? Guarantee he's fatter than any fan you're gonna find
Haha, they may have to. Tony Hills didn't dress. That mean it's impossible for him to put pads on now in this dire situation?
That is Steeler football to the core. Go for it with 3 reserve lineman, just knock em off the ball
They're going to have to keep a back in the back field with Ben most the time. That Starks v Suggs matchup is a very bad one for Pittsburgh.
I never have liked the Pitt OC. He's very conservitive. Two runs in a row?
this is one heck of an old fashion "tough" football game.
Steelers have to be losing the field position battle. They are just getting it done.
has been laying a total egg. Even when they were up 21-7, it was pretty clear that they were in trouble because they hadn't been able to move the ball at all. It was just a matter of time until the Steeler's offense worn down the Ravens and put some points on the board.
Raven's still have a chance, but now the Steelers offense is rolling and the Raven's haven't gotten anything going on offense.
Their offense has been disappointing most the season. With Boldin and Whosyomomma coming over, they should've had the best WR group in the division at least.
Except for the part where they're both slow now...
Excellent. I despise Ray Lewis more than any other NFL player.
Ray Rice was movin it like berney after his td.
The momentum shifts in this game have been so drastic. Entertaining game even though i don't have any horses in the race.
wow, let them play the damn game and keep the laundry to theirself.
Boldin hasn't been heard from. He then drops the ball. 24-24 game.
two runs into the teeth of the Steelers defense and a low %age pass play
Boldin needs to catch that ball, man. That shouldn't be low percentage in the pros.
before he lost it
Neither of these teams is going to the Super Bowl. Huge holes on both sides.
then the winner of this game could get to the sb since they'll have home field
The Pats certainly have a much better chance but Pittsburgh has roughly 7 lineman they can use in any way, shape, or form. I don't know how they're overcoming that other than the Raven's refusal to win this game.
What a CATCH HOLY HELL!
That catch was redonculous! If he only stayed inbounds!
It's hard to believe John and Jim Harbaugh are brothers based purely on sideline demeanor.
Is the Pittsburgh OC on crack? Run the clock down!
Chris Kemo=MORON
Man that penalty was horrible, now Baltimore has a decent chance for the tie.
Think the Steelers respect the Baltimore receivers?
The color commentary for this game isn't very interesting nor is it insightful. But man, all the playoff games so far have been terrific.
GAME OVER.
Fitting that Hous drops an EASY first down when it counted most.
I don't think it's an exaggreration to say Baltimore needs to revamp its entire receiving corps. As I say this Housh drops an easy one. Just retire already. Housh and Boldin end Baltimore's season. How fitting.
What an absolutely awful unit.
.
Here we go, Steelers, here we go
Pittsburgh's goin to the su_uperbowl, here we go
Glad the Steelers won. Woodley was beasting it.
Eat it Suggs. If I wasn't posting from my phone, I'd insert a Nelson Muntz picture here.
