OT: Rasheed Sulaimon to Maryland

Submitted by LS And Play on

The former Duke guard will play his final season at Maryland. Given the Swanigan decommit and this addition, Maryland seems to be the clear favorite in the B1G next year.

I'm kinda amazed any major program would get involved with a kid who, honestly, seems to have some pretty heavy baggage.  I get that you are innocent until proven guilty, but this feels like something that might blow up in Maryland's face.

Don't be such a homer.  Maryland will be starting 4 Mcdonals all-americans next year witha fifth player who was projected early second round in the draft this year before coming back.  Their lineup is going to be:

Melo Trimbe: Top 10 player in the Big last year as a freshman and Mcdonalds AA

Sulaimon:  Former Mcdonalds AA, proved above average player in 3 years at Duke

Jake Layman:  Has played as an undersized 4 for three years, shoots 40% from three and was projected early second round pick before coming back

Robert Carter:  Transfer from Georgia Tech who averaged nearly a double double as a freshman, former Mcdonalds AA

Diamond Stone:  Incoming recruit ranked top 5 in the class.

That is easily the favorite to win the league.  Most talented team in the league with 4 of the players already proven legit NBA talents who will be pre-season top 5.  Michigan will probably be pre-season top 20.

I agree the Maryland starting 5 looks like the best in the league.

MSU will be talented and deep again.  OSU is bringing in another big recruiting class, Purdue will be good, Wisconsin isn't going in the tank, Michigan will bounce back in a big way.

Big Ten basketball is going to be a helluva lot of fun this season.

But we will be competitive. Walton, LeVert, Irvin, Dawkins, and Doyle aren't slouches. We have at least 3 future NBA players on this roster in LeVert, Irvin, and Dawkins. There's also the possibility that Chatman, Wilson, Wagner, or Robinson step up in a huge way.

He was dismissed for sexual assault, but the article on him says nobody filed a complaint against him and the Durham PD has no record of any criminal accusations either.  Did Coach K leak the story to pull a Saban and free up a scholarship?   Or is this a situation where obviously something went down, it just can't be proven in court?  Obviously rape/sexual assault is the least reported crime, so I could see my last sentence being true.
