For him, I don't think so. In SF, he gets to be the 1st read receiver pretty much every play. In NO, he'd struggle (both in his play and mentally) because Drew Brees is so good at hitting open receivers. Having 2 receivers on my fantasy team as my proof, there'd be times where a Saints receiver gets 8 catches one game and then the next game 0. Brees doesn't lock on to any one receiver.

If you look at the Patriot years with Moss, It appeared even Brady felt like he just had to throw it up to Moss  randomly to make him happy, regardless if he was open.

Moss LOVED being in NE...and if anyone thinks Brady HAD to make Randy happy, they're sadly mistaken. That's Brady's team. That's Belichick's team. That was NEVER Randy Moss' team.

Brady threw it up because he was open a lot of the time, that was an incredible year. Brady could lead him by 20 yards and he'd speed up past everyone and go get it 60 yards down the field.

Check that out...that isn't Brady trying to make Moss happy. That's Brady using his best playmaker at the time.

see him and old Jim getting along with each other for very long. I hope he does cause I actually like how the 49ers play football, running Gore, and a great defense.

I love Moss. He has always been misunderstood. I can't remember the time someone actually sat down with him and asked him what actually went down while he was with the Raiders. It's all ESPN making headlines. I think Randy can still do great things in the league. Good for him.

Yea, but can you blame him? That team was a train wreck. He did make the choice to go there I suppose, but man he has played on like one good franchise in his entire career. No offense. I think every one can get a bit whiney when they are in a no-win situation for long enough.

When he first played for the Vikings, they were playoff contenders. I grew up in Vikings country, so I was able to watch almost every game of his.  The guy just didn't play every snap. The Raiders, yeah, that was awful.  He already gained the bad rep while starring on a very good Vikings team, though.  It just happened to get worse.

I've always thought he was misunderstood as well. He obviously has had moments where he needed to use better judgement, but don't think he's a player with a big ego or a "me first" attitude(like TO). I think he'll fit in well with Harbaugh.

I can assure you that Jimmy will make Moss completely submissive..   Have faith in Harbaugh...alot of you here do not, and are still miffed at him, but Harbaugh is a true Michigan man...yes, he can be caustic, but so was Bo.

I take Harbaugh as a very intelligent coach who knows how to handle his players, and his players play for him because of it.  His success proves that, especially in comparison to the pre-Harbaugh 49ers recent history.

Even if Moss has very limited production, I feel like this could be a very good thing for both the 49ers and Moss. I think Moss may need a player's coach like Harbaugh to get something out of this season.

As a 49ers fan, I have very minimal expectations here.  Doesn't mean I'm not excited.

Meh.  At age 35, being a locker room cancer, I don't see him getting along with Jimbo, or being able to play at a high level for an entire season.

I have always had an in between opinion of Moss. He is one of those guys who is so talented its hard not to be excited watching but then you can tell he doesn't try every play or pouts and that makes him hard to root for.

I can't help but be happy for him though that he got a job back as a reward of hard work.

I've seen nothing but good things from fans and analyst on this pick up until I came on this board. I do think things will workout between him and the 49ers. Time will tell though.

Alex Smith is no Tom Brady, or Culpepper pre-injury. Moss is a deep threat primarily, and Smith is pretty inaccurate past 20 yards. And Moss is a cancer, which is why the Pats cut him loose even though he had 3 TDs in 4 games. And Harbaugh is way more volatile than the hoodie. This relationship isn't going to work, and his personality won't be a good rib off on Crabtree.

This is a great pairing, a WR that raises hell when he doesn't get the ball and a QB who can't get it to him. This should be a fun one to watch, off the field of course.

I think Moss still has some skills and has something to give to SanFran.  Harbaugh will do his best to get it out of him, the only issue is Alex Smith and the deep ball.  I am not sure Smith is the QB who can make it happen.  It does address an area of weakness for SF and we will see how he and Vernon Davis pair up.

Finally, it does prove that Michael Crabtree is NOT what he thinks he was on draft day or is today.  Not the least bit ironic after his ridiculous holdout, and wanting #1 money when drafted #10 in 2009.  He is well on his way to the proverbial "scrap-heap" thus far.
