and will no doubt goto this movie. But, I'm disappointed Stallone took the character in this direction. There's nothing better than angry, vengeful Rambo killing foreigners. The original Rambo V had him being reunited with a daughter he didn't know he had and then she's kidnapped. (Yes, I know...they already made "Taken"), but I would gladly watch that movie again with John Rambo as the lead!

Especially since Dennehy is a real life villain. "Rather than immediately chase his dreams of stage and screen, Dennehy enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in 1959, actively serving until 1963. Although he said in numerous interviews that he had fought in Vietnam during the Vietnam War, even telling harrowing tales of his service there, it was revealed in the 1998 book Stolen Valor by B.G. Burkett that Dennehy had never served overseas at all during his time in the military. Later that year, Dennehy admitted to the tabloid The Globe "I lied about serving in Vietnam and I'm sorry. That was very wrong of me. There is no real excuse for that. I was a peace-time Marine, and I got out in 1963 without ever serving in Vietnam. I started the story that I had been in 'Nam, and I got stuck with it. Then I didn't know how to set the record straight." However, in 2007, he once again told a reporter tales of his service in the Vietnam War, this time to Glenna Whitley of the Wall Street Journal.[3]" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brian_Dennehy

Not that I don't think Rambo V will be cool but The Expendables sounds like it might be pure 80's action awesomeness. Stallone has assembled a massive cast of action stars for Expendables, including Jason Statham, Jet Li, Steve Austin, Mickey Rourke, and Dolph Lundgren. At the Venice Film Festival, Stallone described the movie as a throwback to action movies past. I wanted to do a film that was more about men and just doing things that we did back in the '80s and '90s with films that were a little bit more men on men, and actual physical stunts and also a story that isn't super-gigantic. And the thing was to find certain personalities that never would ever work together normally and put them altogether. »

I just wish it was R instead of PG-13, although PG-13 ain't what it used to be. I loved the 1st and 4th Rambo films and hated the 2nd and 3rd. I don't like the sci-fi idea, but I'm willing to give it a chance. It sounds like it could be cool, like the original Predator. The new Predator remake stars Topher Grace and Adrien Brody, so I think I'll pass.

OK, making no judgement...I just gotta know- What makes 1 and 4 great, and 2 and 3 awful? Explain your love... (Because I can see 1 separating out, because it's actually kind of a quality movie, not just fun, and maybe not liking 4, or 3 and 4, or even 2, 3 and 4...but 2 and 3??)

This will be a fantastic movie. I thought the most recent one would stink but rented it and was thoroughly surpised at the enjoyment I felt in the last scene when he uses a gattlin gun to kill 3000 bad guys in less than 4 minutes. Rambo 3 sucked, however. The reuniting with the kidnapped daughter was not only in "Taken", but was also the premise of another classic, "Commando".

Bennett-: "John, I'm not gonna shoot you between the eyes. I'm gonna shoot you between the balls." -arnold grabs steampipe off wall and thrusts it into Bennett's torso. Pipe (although no longer connected to pipeline) continues to steam for 20 minutes. Arnold: "Let off some steam Bennett"
