So....2 division rivals... 1 stadium... this is going to go over well if it comes to fruition. Al Davis is probably rolling over in his grave at the thought of it. Not to mention what are the Chargers' owners thinking? There's no way the Raiders are less popular than the Chargers in LA.

LA Raiders straight outta Compton/Carson?

LA Chargers of San Diego by way of Carson?

Giant market with no NFL.  Now the race is officially on between the Rams, Chaaargas, and Raaidaas.  Should be fun to watch.

Aaannd the Cardinals should have never left Chicago, IMHO.

And while we're at it, why not send the Pistons away from The Palace and Auburn Hills--- but not to Detroit.  Instead, back to Fort Wayne.  Even the building that once was home to the Fort Wayne Pistons from 1952-57, The Allen County War Memorial Coliseum, is still in use.  13,000 seats should be plenty, as poorly as the Pistons have been drawing at The Palace the last few seasons.

If the Raiders want to move to LA they should have to leave the name behind.

Yeah, people will say "They BELONG in LA!"  Well, they have actually been back in Oakland longer than they were in LA.  LA was the original home of the Chargers, so that could work.  If the Raiders want to move back there they should be forced to chose between being the Raiders and being a LA team.  The precident has been set.  The Raiders are the team of Oakland as the Browns are the team of Cleveland (as the Colts should be Baltimore.)

To think, San Francisco and Oakland could both be without teams.

Matter of fact...

Buffalo to Toronto

Jacksonville to San Antonio and change the nickname

Change "Tampa Bay" to "Florida" and play 1/2 the season in Orlando

Oakland to Los Angeles

San Diego stays in San Diego

St. Louis to Los Angeles and change the nickname

...make it happen Goddell.

Buffalo stays in Buffalo.  Toronto wants football - drive an hour.

Jacksonville moves to St. Louis.  Rebrands as the Cardinals.

Tampa Bay stays in Tampa (but no more Lovie Smith)

Oakland stays in Oakland.  They are the fucking RAIDERS......

San Diego stays in SD (but the powder blue uni's are required.  Those are AWESOME)

St. Louis to LA and KEEP the nickname.  They were the LA Rams way before the St Louis Rams my friend.

For some data:  There three counties on the West/South part of the Bay Area - SF, San Mateo and Santa Clara.  Their poulations are:

SF: 837k
San Mateo: 747K
Santa Clara: 1,862k

San Mateo residents are essentially uneffected by this since it's about equidistant South as it was North.  But there are more than twice as many people in Santa Clara County as there are in SF County so it's actually a lot closer to more people.  Santa Clara County is also growing more quickly, which possibly played a part in the decision.

If you're going to nit-pick, then worth pointing out that the overwhelming majority of the population in Santa Clara county is very close to Santa Clara.  You've got 50,000 people down in Gilroy, 40,000 in Morgan Hill, and pretty much the remaining 1.75 million between Palo Alto and San Jose.

The Phoenix Cardinals?  Should they become the Ravens, freeing up Baltimore to take back the Colts?

I remember when the Browns were moving to Baltimore & in their "Penn State" uniform phase before any colors or name were chosen, there was a push to bring the name "Colts."  The story I read was that Irsay (the original dick, not the current one) said $20m he would give the name up.  Modell refused to pay for it, despite the fact that he would make that the first day Baltimore Colts gear went online.

That's because Modell was a moron.  He was the guy who gave Andre (Bad Moon) Risien a huge contract when he was almost out of cash--and, IIRC, a fur coat for his wife/girlfriend when he was "recruiting" him.  For all that cash, he got a problem player and virtually no production.  And shortly thereafter skipped town when he found a moneybags to bail him out.  Hard to tell if Irsay Sr (stealth move in the night) or Modell (I can't run my business sanely, so screw you, I found someone to bail me out) was the bigger jackass, but both easily qualify for the finals in any sports owner jackass competition.  Other nominees?

I was joking...

I really couldn't care less about the NFL. My post was in response to the endless complaining and speculation. Buffalo doesn't support their team and their owner wanted to move. Tampa Bay doesn't support their team and Orlando is getting bigger by the second. JAX is a dump and they're talking about moving them to fucking London every year. St. Louis...Oakland...San Diego...

It's like conference realignment in CFB only the talk happens EVERY single year.

But if your idea will make all of this speculation go away, I'm all for it.

to Inglewood....no way Carson ever happens. NFL is not going to go from 0 teams in LA to 3 teams within 14 miles from one another. Inglewood to Carson is a 15 minute drive down the 405 "with no traffic". Plus Raiders fans hate San Diego. That would be like having the Eagles and Cowboys share a stadium.

Hey, Dover City could build a staduim to hold the Eagles, Giants and Redskins.  Apparently a little traveling is ok, according to the San "Francisco" 49ers, where we finally found out what a real 49er is: It's the fans who travel 49 miles each way to Santa Clara!
