OT: Question re: NCAA 12

Submitted by spacemanspiff231 on

So this is the weirdest thing.  When I had NCAA 11, I could never see any of the audibles in-game when trying to audible before a play.  I can still audible and the audibles I have set up for specific buttons are all accurate, but I often forget which play is set to which button.  This is even more frustrating for defensive audibles for when I just want to have my secondary to press coverage or switch to man coverage for my back 7, etc.  I figured it was a glitch with the game.  But now the same is true of NCAA 12.  Why would they make 2 games with the same problem?  I find it hard to believe that they would but I've been through every setting imaginable and nothing seems to give me the option to change it.  Can anyone offer any insight?

This is exactly right.. hiding the pre-play options also hides the audibles and hot routes if you use them.  A right thumbstick click will bring it up and make it disappear if clicked again.

I know others have already said this is correct, but I would also like to point out that is how you do it for '11 as well, so the game isn't adding a new feature here. Looks like you may just never have noticed it for either game, seems like a pretty simple mistake, at least it didn't affect you playing at all.

Just got to say Mike Martin is a beast in the game. He destroys lineman on the Heisman level. He either blows by or plows them over so they get a holding penalty. The gameplay in the trenches is so much better.

Agreed on Mike Martin being a beast. However, something I have noticed and maybe its only happening to me is that when he knocks a guy over he seems to then be pulled forward and down towards the guy. This has lead to me destroying the oline but the RB runs right next to me and I can't touch him because I seem to be in this animation of Martin wanting to hug the lineman he just destroyed. Its quite frustrating doing so well and having what should be a 3 yard loss becoming a 5+ yard gain.

I really think Craig Roh is very good as well. His speed and acceleration off the edge really is a great pass rush with Mike Martin at DT.

On a side note, I played online for one game. Denard had 180 yards rushing and 100 yards passing. He was dominating, until he got hurt. Then Devin came in and had 120 rushing yards and 100 passing yards himself. Needless to say, our QB's are mobie. I beat the guy 42-28. He was playing as Florida. Man, Demps is a BURNER.

The only thing is that denard gets hurt in my game A LOT. I know he got dinged up in real life for more than just a few games but he's already had a concussion and missed all of my western game with an arm issue. He's only played about 3/4 of a game total

this thread to ask the same thing.  He's quite the china doll in my game so far.  Five games, injured in all five.  I checked, his injury rating is 72, only Vincent Smith is worse at 70.  (Molk is also a 72)

Gardner is no iron horse either.  I've seen quite a lot of Bellomy.  Good news is he's pretty sweet.

rating, that is what I did. Some may call that cheating, but I would argue that it is realistic since his  injury rating is based on on how often he got injured last year, but I think in this years offense with less carries he won't get injured nearly as much.

I have a questions as well and there is no need to start a new thread.

As soon as my running back takes a hand-off or a WR catches a pass, they do one of those jump to the side/juke moves before they start to head up field.  As you can imagine this is incredibly annoying.

Also, I can't get Denard to pull the ball down and run.  I have looked at all the controls and switched controllers thinking that a button might be stuck.  No luck either way.  Any suggestions?

That's what I do but he just holds it out and runs rediculously slow until i cross the line of scrimmage.  Which by that time the whole D has collapsed my way.

EDIT: This was in reply to the above question and answer

I've only played with NCAA 12 for about an hour, but I could not figure out how to get Denard his dreads.  I tried switching every "face" mold with his current body type and still can't get dreads to show up.  Can anyone help me with that?

skin tone is not remotely accurate for Denard. The way they added dreads sucks, plain and simple. Instead of giving us a simply  an on and off option for dreads, we are stuck with only preset faces that have dreads. Seems like they very mimimal face options for smaller guys like Denard, than for bigger guys. Your basically stuck with Denard having  the incorrect skin tone and dreads or  the correct skin tone and no dreads.

Overall I like NCAA 12 alot, but they half-assed the dreads. They touted it as such a big addition, but did not include different lengths dreads(not everybody has predator style dreads) and limited them by tying them to specific faces.

It would've been cool if you could have different colored tips to dreads.. but thats just me being picky.

The only other beef I have with the game is that when I play BYU I ALWAYS think it says bye, but I also have dyslexia soo thats probably just me.
