OT: PS3 Madden Online Franchise
I am currently in an online franchise for Madden 10 on PS3, and we are in need for some new owners. It's a solid league and we usually advance every 4-5 days. The franchise is in Season 2 in the Super Bowl, which has the Lions(!) playing the Pats, so if you are interested we should be doing the rookie draft on the 21st after some members get back from a trip. Not sure about all the open teams exactly since EA won't let me check but the ones I know of are the Bucs, Bills, I think the Chargers, Dolphins, Chiefs, Jaguars, Seahawks, Browns. Not sure if there are more, but that should be most of them.
We don't want any cheap players, and we play with some rules to make sure the game is played the way it should be played. We will also be continuing this franchise in Madden 11, I believe.
Cowboys, Bears, Packers, Rams, Texans, Ravens, and Redskins are also available. Currently we are at 17 active owners. To join please create an account at the website and post your team selection in a thread along with your PSN info for the invite.
EDIT: It is also worth noting that taking a team in the Madden 10 league secures that same team for you in the Madden 11 league.
My brother and I have played Madden for almost a decade, but we like to play our franchise TOGETHER (he is QB, I am WR or RB, he is DE, I am FS, stuff like that). Can we do that in the online version?
He and I have lived in different states for a few years now and it's difficult to keep playing when you can only see each other once every few months. Could we both do an online franchise together?
You can both join as different teams, but not the same team. You can play online outside of the franchise for fun together in co-op.
I don't believe that function is available in Madden 10, but it could be in Madden 11. What the league would offer you and your brother is the chance to participate in the same online franchise, including smack talking on the forum (if that is desirable). In addition, you could choose to be teams in the same division (so you could play eachother at least twice a season) or, be in difference conferences (to minimalize the chances of having to play one another).
The mega-publisher announced Monday that beginning with the June 8th release of Tiger Woods 11, all future EA Sports games for the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 will include a one-time, game-specific "Online Pass" code, which grants access to "online services, features and bonus content."
How playing Madden online could cost you $10.
This is really targeted at people who purchase used games. In fact, it was in effect this year for Madden 10 -- where if you purchased a used copy of the game, the activation code in the booklet wouldn't work and players were forced to purchase a code to participate in an online league.
