OT: Pryor=Square Peg/ Tress Off=Round Hole

Submitted by HelloHeisman91 on
With the understanding that Tress would run a ProStyle O and tutor him to an NFL career TP ends up in Cbus and now seems to have everyone wondering if he can get it done in that Off. With that being said I have two questions. 1. Does the Mgoboard community think TP would really be better off in the spread? 2. If so, does Tress owe it to OSU fans and the OSU team to do whatever it takes to put the team in the best position to win or does a promise to TP two years ago trump that?

TP is a true sophomore. Why does everyone expect him to light the world on fire? Yes, Tate has played well beyond his years, but that is the exception to the rule. If TP isn't a reasonable passer next year, then he has a problem. Its still too early to be writing TP off. And Tressel's responsibility is to win games, while remaining within the rules. Pure and simple.

is wavering. Knees bukled as if just rocked by a MMA beast. From FireJTressel.com - "DpressedBuckI wrote: Yes I agree with all JT is a GOOD coach and he can recruit, so tell me this why is he calling offensive plays? Realistically, he will not get fired, he's a lifer. Given that fact how about we lobby for a creative offensive coordinator. Yes Pryor can't throw, but he can run, he can be part of flea-flickers and Bauserman to Pryor trick plays, well then why haven't we designed any plays to display Pryor's strengths and his speed and agility? A GOOD offensive coordinator plays to the strengths of the QB and doesn't hang him out to dry, alas JT does that over and over again!! JT didn't try for a 48-49 yard field goal instead took a delay of game and punted it away, really, really effing really - you are talking about USC, who was bound to have a drive for a touchdown. Can you guys imagine how frustrated Jim Heacock feels? He has produced defenses that have matched wits with Texas (VY and his boys), with LSU, with Mark Sanchez's USC, with McCoy's Texas again and now once more with USC and held em to 18 points. Can someone see the irony in that? I feel so bad for our defense and how much they have bleed to keep us in games. Jim Heacock deserves the damn huge contract instead of JT. JT is a great recruiter HE SHOULD STICK WITH THAT and get an Offensive coordinator like a Steve Sarkisian to match the skills of Jim Heacock and his stellar defense!!! I am tired of disappointments and heartaches!! I hope we lose to Toledo this weekend." http://firejtressel.com/2009/09/12/usc-game-analysis.aspx By no means do I think OSU is no a push over but their fans are pissed off and well they should be. "I am tired of disappointments and heartaches!! I hope we lose to Toledo this weekend." - WTF?! I was sick over our performance last year and just wanted the season to end but never once did I say "I hope we lose to X". Especially after feeling the gutwrenching sting of losing to Toledo. The wheels are coming off the wagon down there. I only hope we can capitolize and keep the wins coming in. Chris Brown at Dr.Saturday gives a great breakdown of what happened against USC the other night. http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/blog/dr_saturday/post/Deconstruct… But enough talk of the Armpit already... Go blue!

1. Yes. When he goes through his progressions and no one is open he has more open space in a spread offense to run with his 2.58 40 speed. 2. Yes. His team has a better chance of winning when TP runs more and throws less. Tressel will eventually realize that he is never gonna be a true Pro-style QB and will probably end up as a WR in the NFL.
