OT - Pryor Ruled Ineligible For Supplemental Draft
According to an NFL source Pryor's name does not appear on the Supplemental Draft Eligible list. EDIT: spelling mistake in the title line, I don't have a computer and post from the app which doesn't allow an edit. Anyone with an iPhone knows how slow the page loads in Safari/Opera Mini, sorry for that guys.

Ohio said Pryor would have been ineligible this year if he had stayed. Why is he the only tatgate player that would have gotten any more punishment??? Is that just so they can quickly distance themselves from him in an attempt to look better in the eyes of the NCAA?

Would not be surprised if OSU faces this question in a couple days from the NCAA.

If I recall, the company line was something like "he didn't cooperate with the NCAA investigation, so he wouldn't be eligible." Which, like, he hired an agent which made him ineligible before he declined to meet with the NCAA personnel. You can't retroactively make someone ineligible based on actions after they are already ineligible.

The CFL is looking pretty likely right now. But considering what he's done to himself mostly, there are much worse scenario's. Part of me feels sorry for him in that he's obviously received very poor mentoring and guidance from his adult handlers, family, and coaches. That includes Sweatervest. That doesn't mean he can't make better decisions for himself. As someone pointed out though, it may simply be a maturity issue too.
I don't have any animosity toward TP (unlike his former school) and I hope he straightens himself out eventually.

Yes, always trust an article states "prior" is ineligible. Because Dallas and a few other teams are interested, I think he will be added. Jerry Jones will call up Goodell and make it happen.

If he goes to Dallas I will personally drive to texas and kick JJ in the nuts.
Dallas doesn't have a huge need at QB right now, Kitna is a solid backup and they should still be able to get a couple more years out of Romo at least.

Did Dallas say they wanted him to be a QB?
August 10th, 2011 at 4:49 PM ^
no they haven't. I've just gotten used to seeing him under center I suppose. The Cowboys do have some needs at WR.
I will still boot JJ in the nuts though.
If he is declared eligible, my money is on Cleveland getting him. I could be wrong though

Who is this "Pyror" fella and why should I care?
August 10th, 2011 at 2:31 PM ^
and this is what happens. I cant be certain but I seriously doubt LeBron was preaching patience to Pryor, telling him that he shouldn't be trying to cash in while he was in college, that he should spend his free time getting better as a player, and not worry about his image.
Doesnt matter to me where he went to school, I just think its a shame that this young man didnt get the strict guidance he obviously needed to fufill his potential. Hope it works out for him (insofar as I hope he doesnt travel the same lonely, prison filled role that Clarett did)

He has an agent that should be looking out for his interests. His agent should be calling the NCAA right now, arrainging a sit-down where Pryor spills all, in exchange for being declared ineligible by the NCAA. Then he should be ruled eligible for the supplemental draft.

Someone from Cleveland pinning the blame on LeBron? Didn't see that coming.

I still detest THE Dirtiest Program in College Football, but I also believe that Pryor deserves a chance to make a living in a free market. I wonder if it's too late for him to say yes to the CFL? He'll have to take a pay cut, but he's already cut off from the Columbus Gravy Train, so what's the difference?
August 10th, 2011 at 3:06 PM ^
I don't think anyone is saying that he doesn't deserve the chance to make a living. I think what everyone is saying is that he knew or at least should have known the rules before thinking he could do what he is trying to do. I feel like he should he able to make a living in the NFL if he is good enough to make a team but I don't think he deserves to have the rules bent for him to do so. He should have to do what any other player would have to do. Sit out this year and then enter next year's draft and if he doesn't get drafted enter the league as a free agent. He's already had enough extras thrown his way, I hope the NFL doesn't cave in and bend the rules for him.

Can't he just tryout?
August 10th, 2011 at 3:21 PM ^
According to the CBA players must go through a draft cycle to be elligible to make a roster. If someone went through the supplemental draft undrafted, then they could try out; but in this situation Pryor will have no choice but to wait and declare for the next draft cycle.

Sure is.

TP is gone from TSIO, and we have more important things to think about such as how will this years Michigan team do and how will our 2012 recruiting class round out and how much am I going to have to pay for game tickets for Michigan's first night game against the Biting Irish?
August 10th, 2011 at 5:40 PM ^
You really can't find just a tiny sliver interest in TPeezy-freude
August 10th, 2011 at 5:47 PM ^
Michigan fans will talking about Pryor 20 years from now.

.....in the sense of "Who was that whackjob Buckeye QB that ended up playing for Rotterdam over in Europe?"
