OT: Prepare the Money Cannon to help a blind girl see again
(UPDATE: She reached her goal! Well done to everyone who donated. The MGoMoneyCannon strikes again)
We all know the power of our great and wonderful Money Cannon. Mlive just posted a recent article about a local Ann Arbor girl who needs funding to get a special device that will enable her to regain her lost sight.
She has already been given a $7000 grant from the state and needs another $8000 in funds. We can easily help her reach that. Oh, and she partners with a College of Engineering class on coming up with great ideas and products that will assist the blind.
Here is the Mlive article: http://www.mlive.com/news/ann-arbor/index.ssf/2017/02/legally_blind_teen_attempting.html#incart_river_home
And here is the link to her fundraiser page: http://giving.esighteyewear.com/india-west
I don't usually post, but this seemed like a great story and great opportunity to help out a girl that could use the assistance.

Think if this technology were given to the NCAA Infractions Committee?
(Agreed it's a good cause, and glad to hear the girl will be seeing again.)

They'd still need to get their head out of the sand in order to see.

Fantastic story. Did my part, see that she is quite close to her goal. These types of stories restore my faith in humanity.... but don't worry, it's only temporary.

Great story and thanks for posting. I just donated. What a wonderful story!

but this gadget is just a fancy magnifier. It is not doing anything magical and is essentially a VR headset that allows for adjustments to magnification and tilt. It's overpriced by a factor of 10.
(And, yes, I work in this field.)
