OT: Police searching Jordan Jefferson's house for evidence

According to the Baton Rouge newspaper, The Advocate, police were at Jefferson's home this afternoon looking for evidence from the LSU football player fight last week. This keeps sounding more serious by the day.

http://theadvocate.com/home/666541-82/police-searching-jordan-jeffersons...

Also, a video which is purportedly from the fight has been posted on the Baton Rouge sport talk station's website. Not much of anything to decipher though:

Evidence of a fist fight that

Evidence of a fist fight that happened last week at another location. I bet I know what they found.

Looks like something a James Bond villain would use as a weapon. Roger Moore-era James Bond, of course.

Hmmm

It's only serious if they actually find anything.  Other than a shoe with the head-kick victim's blood on it, I can't imagine what else they would find.

So I was wrong. Guess missing out on Les Miles was a blessing.

WRONG

Les Miles wasn't in this fight.  This would be like blaming Gene Chizik for Cam Newton's dad wanting pay-for-play.

And Dantonio wasn't involved in the msu fight. But it still reflects poorly on him and the program. You wouldn't see 15 Michigan players brawling at Rick's.

Dantonio's a clown, but

You didn't see 15 LSU players brawling at a bar either... 4 to 15 seems a pretty signifcant jump, no?

From the New Orleans

From the New Orleans Times-Picayune:

An undetermined number of LSU players apparently violated curfew after a 10:30 p.m. bed check Thursday and were involved in a large brawl near campus. Four people were injured and went to area hospitals. Baton Rouge police said 15 to 20 LSU players were involved but were gone by the time police arrived.

Touche, friendo

Though one wonders how they arrived at those numbers if the players were already gone when they got there. Witnesses, I guess? Are there 15 to 20 LSU players that are recognizable on sight?

Who knows? I don't imagine it would be that hard to identify which players were there. But determining who did what might well prove a lot more difficult. I bet they split the difference. The worst offenders get charged. The rest get slaps on the wrist. Just a guess obviously.

Keep in mind that football

Keep in mind that football players are very big compared to the general population. Even "skinny" players like Denard are very, very chiseled by normal standards.  If I see a group of very large guys walking around on a college campus, I'll probably assume they're football (or maybe basketball) players.

That's an assumption I would make...

I would make that assumption too, but it doesn't mean it's right. What I would wonder is who is to say that they weren't say...6 football players and 10 friends? You have the 6 big guys that are clearly athletes and friends with no affiliation to the team. None of it matters, but I would say it would be hard for police to make that determination when none of them were there.

An eye witness could be someone like you or I who just figured because we knew 6 of them were football players and the rest were big guys, they were all football players. I just find it a little bizarre that police would make that claim when they didn't see anyone other than the 4 they are investigating.

Also, what the hell is up with one sentence paragraphs these days? I find it annoying to read stories in that format.

All criminals are SEC athletes, but not all SEC athletes are criminals. Actually that's not true. Some criminals are MSU athletes too.

Maybe he left a post it note

Maybe he left a post it note reminder to get in a fight, dated to that exact date, on top of a mountain of cocaine.

This is some solid police work. There is no way that the departments day could be better spent.

He's a college athlete. Can't the police just follow him on Twitter and wait until he posts a picture of himself punching someone?

Any bets the investigation lasts until after the Oregon Game

Then LSU and Miles can just claim they were waiting until the investigation was complete before deciding on any suspensions.

October 1st.

I LSU internal/police investigation will wrap up around Kentucky week. After much field grass and Taffy are consumed Les will declare the players involved will be punished. Les may have to ponder a little more if Banana flavor taffy is involved or the Kentucky Blue Grass upsets his stomach and may push back his decision until November 12 (Western Kentucky).
