OT-Pistons

Pistons sign Free Agent Chris Wilcox to 2 year $6 million deal sources say. I think this is good. Other thought? I feel he is better than signing Ben again. unless we can get him for real cheap. He is a good guy to come off the bench. Atleast as a replacement for McDyess. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=4338838

Not sure if I agree with much of that analysis. Last season, he was basically just as bad of a player as Glen Davis was. He does not have much of an offensive game and like most centers just dunks a lot. And, in no way shape or form does he compare to Rasheed Wallace. I'm not sure what Hollinger was on when he made that comparison. He might as well have compared Wilcox to Steve Kerr. Wilcox is what he is. He can dunk, rebound, make some athletic plays around the basket that will tease the fanbase, and he won't play defense or provide much of a competent offensive game. He's a backup that is ideally the second big off the bench. If he's asked to do more, and he probably will, then we are in trouble.

I can't figure out what Joe is doing this time. Usually, there seems to be a glimmer of hope with Joe, even if things appear to really suck. At this point, though, it looks like he is paying a lot of money for mediocrity. That won't "sit well" with Mrs Davidson. At this point, Stuckey has to prove he is the "real deal" by elevating his game by about 2X if the Pistons are to be serious contenders in the East. I don't know if he can do that. Apparently, Joe thinks he can. I know the plan is for down the road, but I think Joe needs to provide an "escape route" for this project, in case Stuckey doesn't develop and Villanueva doesn't turn out to be worth his contract.

a run and gun type. They really don't have a real big guy who can anchor down low. They have a couple of smallish C who can bang down low a little bit and rebound as well in Wilcox and Maxiell. The rookie class looks very promising in Summer League. Summers looks like to be a steal in 2nd round while Daye showed variety of skills that made him a 1st round pick. Jerebkos has been a pleasant surprise. He's tall who can run. He can play 3/4/5 position but his future appears to be at the 4/5.

We had Sean Singletary on the roster as well in summer league. If Dumars signed him up as the third point guard and kept him on the roster all year I wouldn't care if the rest of the team was a troupe of traveling midget clowns, Dumars would be ten ways of awesome in my book.

I heard that there was an offer on the table to trade away Tayshaun for Boozer straight up and Dumars passed on it... I don't know how close to the truth that is but if he did pass then I am starting to have big problems with Joe D. I just don't understand what the fascination with tayshaun is. He can't shoot or play offense well, and honestly his defense is nothing much above average. Yes I have seen the Reggie Miller block a million times but that was one play. I think all you need to look at is his performance in recent years against Wade, Pierce, and Lebron. I know those guys will light up anyone but that is my point. They put up huge numbers on Prince just like they would anyone else. Prince is nothing but an average defender in my opinion. Anyway back to the point of the trade. Can anyone confirm it and is anyone as disappointed as I am that we would pass on an offer like that?
