Is this legitimate? Back-to-back road wins in San Antonio and Dallas. This team looks totally different without Josh Smith. Best $26M they ever could have flushed down the toilet.

At the risk of sounding like a fair weather fan (I am) I may have to tune in for some games. I don't care much for the nba anymore, but seeing the pistons with a little  swagger would do me well.

Monroe and Drummond combined for 33 and 37, incredible.

...back to back.  Pretty impressive.  Three games out of a playoff spot also.  I shouldn't say this, but this Eastern Conference looks pretty weak.  Just get in the postseason and let's see what kind of damage Monroe and Drummond can do on the boards.

the real Pistons a couple weeks ago and has been sending these faux Pistons out to play in their place?  And is it OK with the NBA for the Pistons to muddle up the best-laid plans of the league?

I turned the game on in the 4th quarter and... it was enjoyable to watch. What is going on?!?I did gather that pissing off D.J. Augustin is apparently a bad idea. #FAFW

He's been successful everywhere he's been. I miss the Pistons being relevant. That run of six straight eastern conference finals with back to back finals appearances feel like ages ago.

5-23 to 12-23, winning back-to-back games against the defending champs and the 26-10 mavs, both on the road.  i can only imagine what a cancer that josh smith guy must be.   wow.  go pistons.

I don't think so. When a team is playing hard and playing *the right way* it's still possible to tune in and root for them when they aren't successful. When you have to see a clusterfuck night in and night out, it stops being fun and it becomes heartbreaking. I stopped watching too.
Not having to see Josh Smith stunt the growth of our two promising bigs and steal shots from our superior shooters and set a poor example with his shit effort and awful body language all despite being the eldest rotation player and the highest paid...it's been refreshing.

That's actually a great way of putting it. I don't consider myself a fair weather fan. I've watched the Lions (nearly) every Sunday my entire life despite their perennial awfulness, was a huge pre-2006 Tigers fan, and put up with the Pistons before their '03 resurgence and a few years after, watching as many games as I could of those three teams. I moved out of town 4 years ago and games are harder to find, but I still buy the NHL and MLB packages and go to the bar every Sunday to watch the Lions. I didn't even consider buying an NBA package this year. Granted, I probably enjoy watching those other leagues more in general, but I'm not an NBA hater by any means. I just couldn't justify taking time out of my day and money out of my pocket to just be disgusted and frustrated several times a week because of HOW they played.

(Note: I know you could say the same about the Lions for pretty much forever, but it's a lot more palatable to watch a team only 16 times per year while sitting at a bar consuming alcohol.)

Last year I looked at the roster and thought they had pretty solid talent. Not anywhere near close to contending for championships or consistantly deep playoff runs, but definitely, definitely more talent than the record has shown. After a while, I convinced myself that my homerism was getting the best of me. Now Im not sure what to think. If you look at the roster, I would say that 4 of the starting 5 are better than average and this team actually has some solid depth. I feel like Im in a confusing relationship.
