What's getting lost in all this is that they were 18 down in San Antonio. I don't care if it's a regular season game and they're not 100% - impressive stuff from the Pistons tonight.

Lovin this run.

Awesome game. Got home from work and turned the game on and they were down by 14? I think it was. Then they stormed back and took a 10 point lead before the Spurs came back themselves. They have been fun to watch for the first time in a long ass time.

that guy, like the early warning detection system so that if the zombies are about to go out, you would let us all know?    maybe send us some supplies and stuff?   people could miss this and it would be bad.   next fall might be critical, but who knows, maybe in march too if hockey and MBB get pointed in the right direction.

That game winner by Jennings was wayyy more impressive that I expected when I read that he'd 'hit a left handed lay up to win the game'. That was a 'OMG...no way..left handed bank shot from outside the paint'. Impressive...

Is Monroe going to stay?

What's the future direction of this team, just stay at an 8th seed type level or is there a path to improvement?

For example, the 76ers are trying to suck and build through the draft. The Knicks are trying to dump and build through free agency. What's Detroit trying to do?

They have two cornerstone bigs. I don't really follow them, but KCP seems better and Jennings is Jennings.

Is it a matter of finding a star SF to plug in? Is it trying to build a team similar to the 2004 Pistons?

Just curious.

Not sure, but young guys can learn early on to be winners or losers, and I like that SVG is teaching them to win. I'd still like a point guard upgrade, but if we can keep this core together and add a couple more pieces through free agency/draft, maturation alone could make this team pretty good.

Agreed...and you need young guys to show potential to do more than suck if you are ever going to be able to upgrade through trades. So, even if Jennings isn't the long term answer...his play of late makes him a much more attractive trade bait than I thought was ever possible.

I do hope they keep Monroe...at a reasonable price.

Sadly, I think Monroe is making himself lots of money this year.  He's been a nice player for years, and with such weak FA classes most years a big guy who can score and rebound is going to get big money.

But yeah, if they could keep him I'd be okay with it.  They couldn't work with both Monroe and Smith, but combine him with Drummond and some shooters and it could be a decent unit.
