OT-Pistons play again tonight Open Thread. Plus, highlights from "The Streak."

The Pistons play the Pellies tonight at 7:30. I used to know how to embed youtube videos into OPs, but I've had a few drinks tonight and can no longer work it out on my own. I'll embed "The Streak" highlight video in the first post of this thread.

The Pistons are presently only 2 games out of the playoffs, and the Nets (currently the 8th seed) are in a downward spiral. If the 'Stones keep this level of play up they could be a playoff team by the end of the week!

Form a f**king wall! Go Pistons!

there is no doubt about SVG and his coaching abilities. I expect to be nationally relevant again once he fully takes care of Dumars mess. And his selection of players. I thought he was just blatantly tanking for a high draft pick but apparently not.. appears Josh Smith just really did not fit (putting it lightly).

it's hard to believe this is the same team I was watching earlier in the year. Poor Josh, every game the Pistons win is a reminder that he ain't got game. Someone on Sirius XM NBA station jokingly said even unemployment is down in Detroit now that he left town.

Wow, number one with a bullet are the Pistons, just flying towards a playoff berth; it's no longer if the Pistons will make the playoffs but how high they will reach. Another interesting question, are they going to go after someone before the deadline?

I didn't even think about going after a player near the trade deadline... it's been so long since we've been buyers.. that would be pretty awesome if SVG could make a good deal or two, even if there's no chance of going deep in the playoffs. Just as long as some good moves are made.

Side note, it seems like you are a big NBA/basketball fan (especially since u listen to NBA on Sirius).. I see the Jordan Morgan avatar.. do you know what he's up to currently? I know he was really smart and could find a career, but I thought I heard he was giving basketball a shot? Any update? Thanks.

This team reminds me of the Pistons right around 2002. They're fun to watch, young and inexperienced. Each game they gain valuable experience to begin making some serious runs in the playoffs. Enjoy the ride!!

The Lions made me happy to make up for my depression from Brady's boys. And now

the Pistons are making me happy to make up for Beilein's growing pains. You can understand

why OSU fans are so fanatical (nicest word I can use). If you had decades of rooting for

the Browns, Indians, Blue Jackets, and Cavs (below 500 with LeBron the total sell out) you

would be a basket case.

Now that the "streak" is over, there shouldn't be any Pistons Open Threads on this board. The streak was cute, but back to reality there are about 1500 people at the game there tonight.

This isn't a Detroit Pistons board so your point is invalid. There is absolutely no reason for someone to be as big of a Pistons slappy as you on here, considering most of this blog's readership is outside of the state of Michigan and doesn't give a shit about the Pistons.

Starting fights and copping an attitude your first day on the blog with this handle? You certainly (don't) know how to make an entrance... As for your argument that most of the blog's readership is "outside of the state of Michigan," you don't know if that's actually true without a doubt and nor do I. What I certainly do know (and what pokes a huge hole in your logic) is there are more readers from Michigan than any other one state. This thread isn't going anywhere, so just untwist your panties over it already.

17% of the blog's readership is outside of the US. I think it's very easy to say that 33% of the blog's readers are in the US but outside the state of Michigan. I'm not here to start any fights, but I'd put a 50% chance on the toolbag named "Form a Wall" actually being an employee of the Pistons. If not, he must be a very sad and bored little individual. Theres no reason for a person to get that defensive on a site that has exactly 0% of its content devoted to the Pistons.

Musharraf, you are certainly quite the charmer. Your posts before you got to this thread were pretty decent, but then you all of the sudden went full troll, and there is a big difference between differing opinions and trolling. If you don't continue to spiral downwards tonight and the mods let you stay, I suggest you sit the next few threads out, gather yourself while you learn the lay of the land, and then start contributing again when you're truly ready. This blog, while susceptible to hive mind, is always interested in new voices. But this blog also doesn't take shit from newcomers who start shit, and we have no problem ganging up on said newcomers when necessary. Also, if you started this username just to troll, you need to learn to slowplay your hand a lot better.

and learn the board rules. Posting an off topic "OT" is okay for pro sports such as the Pistons.

Posting personal attacks will get you booted, so if you don't like the Pistons, ignore this thread.

Trying to help you, with my two degrees from UM.

Criticizing the lack of inclusiveness right after telling people what they should be talking about. Cute. For the record I'm not a Michigan resident (10 years removed) nor do I have any connection to the pistons.... I enjoy a good turnaround story after a tough football season, if that makes me sad and bored so be it. And you may want to check out Seth's front page post from this past week that led with pistons talk.

The pistons will be horrible until they quit being the 8-10 seed every season. They have become the Milwaukee bucks...never shitty enough to get the top 3 pick and always battling for the glorious 8 seed....worthless.

Well this is the NBA and NHL when you have many games in few nights. Just checked 6 games in 8 nights - they are gassed. Winning 9 of the last 10 including in Dallas, San Antonio  and Toronto is no fluke. Looking forward to the next game.

ps. Is Drew Sharp posting on this board?
