The Detroit Pistons have fired coach Mo Cheeks, league sources tell Yahoo Sports.

Well, at least he got more games than Rob Chudzinski.

The best dogs ever and tend to live long lives for their size.

We rescued a GSP from a pheasant hunting preserve last year because she just don't hunt birds and is terrified by loud noises (think shotgun).  Our last GSP lived 15 wonderful years.

They haven't been doing a very good job of tanking for this year's talent-rich draft.  Firing Cheeks gives them a perfect excuse to start collecting ping-pong balls.

Ultimately, Cheeks wasn't good enough to make chicken salad out of chicken feathers.  Nobody is.

Is a Sparty alumnus............so perhaps the Izzo discussion may have some merit.  His time seems to be up coaching college players anyway.  Good fucking riddance.

Izzo's team may be playing well and close to first place in the B1G, but just look at the guy.  He seems to lose control of his emotions quite a bit these days.  Is that a way to (1) fire up his team or (2) pressure the refs?  I think that is indicative of his attitude toward coaching kids.

But yeah, I watch the games, particularly when I attend UM's home games and then on the tube.

Poorly constructed roster. Josh Smith has to be playing PF to prevent his jump shot tendencies. Not sure how high ppl around the league are about Monroe but I think one if them has to go.

If a coach believes he can get us to play defense, I think they'll salivate over this roster. Jennings, Smith and Drummond (and KCP if he develops, which he will IMO) were built for transition play but you gotta get stops to do that. But it's a nightmare lineup for the halfcourt (well, the front court is at least).

The roster is much more talented than other jobs that are open or will be in the summer. As I said, if a coach thinks he can get the team to play defense so they can get out in transition, it's a good roster for it. Jennings, Smith and Drummond can all run up and down the court like deer.

As many of you may have read in my long winded rant earlier this month; Maurice Cheeks is not an NBA level coach or mind. The other thing is that Dumars needs to go, he hired him, and the last 4 train wreck coaches to have coached this dumpster fire of an organization. Dumars has consistently shown that he has no clue how to compete in todays NBA. I'm not sure what further proof anyone needs.

Dumars lack of building an identity with the team is what undid his tenure. His coaching hires and FA signings are reflective of uncertainty. We were known as a defensive and team oriented organization when we were most recently successful. But his FA signings and coaching hires are reflective of uncertainty and desperation. I partially blame Gores as I think he wants the team to win now, even though buying a good player that doesn't fit anywhere into the team makeup isn't the best way to do it.
