That "superstitious BS" is part of the tradition of the game. I'm sure you'll find out exactly how many people here honor traditions if you make a post like that while somebody on the Tigers is doing it.

These kinds of things always seem to happen to the Rays. Too many free-swingers on that team. Hell of a game by King Felix, though. Kudos to the young man.

Don't bet on it. Felix has expressed desire to win in Seattle many times. If the Mariner's front office will match the deal the Yankees will throw at him he will likely stay. The M's front office has kept mum for a while now but so far they have tried to build a team around him and most experts seem to think the organization wants to keep that going.

The Mariners are not lacking in funds. They gave Ichiro a huge contract back in 07 and he was 34 at the time. A young stud like Felix gets paid even by teams like Seattle. It's no different than Verlander's situation except Felix is three years younger. He is due 19.5 mil next year and 20 in 2014. If he doesn't get hurt it's likely his next contract will be 22-26. It all comes down to whether the Mariners pony up the dough. The jump from 20 to 26 isn't huge. LIke I said most M's writers seem to think the organization will try to keep him.

Mariner fan checking in. People always say that, but I think it's about as likely at this point as Verlander being the next great Yankee. Any time I have seen Felix get asked the question, including multiple times in various interviews today, he has emphatically shot the idea down. Seattle is better off hanging on to him for now considering he is only 26. If they still aren't contending at the end of his contract or if they sign him to an extension, then maybe it's time to trade him. For now, no way Jose.

wow...3rd perfecto this year... and 6th no hitter. Its good that the steriod era is (almost) done. Good pitching is much more fun to watch than muscled up free swingers.

that leaving the steriod era is causing these perfect games though. Even in the dead ball era we didn't see anything like this before. Also, this thread is evidence against the people who cry jinx when you talk about no-no's and perfect games. You find me a single no-hitter in the history of baseball that nobody talked about, then maybe I will buy that haha.
